I'm also trying to picture it on Clark, and it doesn't gel in my mind as well. The vibrant colors on a person with a darker skin tone is a fantastic combination. What I'm saying is, start another Crisis, retcon this Supes as the main Supes, ditch Clark, bingo bongo we've got a winner.

The memories the twins extracted from Emplate suggest he created Penance's body out of whole cloth to contain Monet (a power he has never exhibited since); but Penance persisted after Monet and the Twins were, for lack of a better term, extracted from her. She saved the team from a sasquatch. Not Alpha Flight's Sasquatch, just a regular yeti. This was also the first time she communicated in an actual language (by carving the word 'home' into a tree). Penance is an individual, and she's cool.
