The way I understand it, Covid-19 causes inflamatory responses in the body, leading to the symptoms we know. Suppressing the immune system would thus diminish Covid-19 symptoms (which can be devastating), but you are right, it wouldn't fight the virus itself.

Gonna give a shout out to the mods that allow people to be a little bit happy about a person who is responsible for incredible pain and misery, feeling some of it himself I feel it's a very human response to feel glad when horrible things happen to horrible people, for loving once in their life, instead of innocents around them
