I guess I'm misremembering but I could have sworn in one of the old threads someone once posted some stuff Mookie had drawn for himself or like fanart or something and while not incredible, it looked pretty good/okay. Like I vaguely recall people being flabbergasted by the fact that Mookie apparently could do better than DD, at least in terms of art, but chose not to out of a slavish and idiotic devotion to what he mistook for style. It was kind of why I was surprised, when this all began, that the Ink Witch and Satyr stuff have been in his Dominic Deegan style. I could have sworn Mookie tended to draw better for stuff not related to the ~Deeganverse~

Ah, yeah. I remember reading that. It wasn't explosive or anything, but I got the sense Garth was sick of working on the comic for so little return, especially after the nosedive the patreon took after Mookie's chapter. They had already slowed the update schedule by a LOT (it took them an entire year per 5-issue story arc, by the end) which didn't help either. Mookie also shared that he had a lot more stories in mind for Star Power, so it was explicitly Garth alone that chose to end the comic. Also Mookie seems to have webmaster control over the website, so it was probably him that deleted it. It literally is. I think the thing I hate the most about Mookie's porn pictures is that they don't even really work as porn pictures. Just draw them boning for gently caress's sake! Own it, if you're going to do it! As it is, there's a weird prudishness that goes along with the drawings that I find way grosser than even some of worst fetish porn I've been exposed to by this website.

It's not even good soft porn! It's just people hanging out being kinda sexual but in a really awkward way, and it's just far more upsetting than any pin-up or porn commission because it feels like Mookie's judging you for either getting off or not getting off to what he's drawing to get off to. Like I really think that he thinks anyone who wants it to be more actively sexual or gets into it is clearly gross, while anyone who doesn't delight in his limp-donged satyrs and bland, abstract-haired nymphs is a prude or can't appreciate gentle sensuality or something.
