But Disney did a cost/benefit analysis and figured they could make more money without conceding to the chuds, that's all. Everyone hates online chuds, it's fish in a barrel. But Disney itself is still the company that (for example) goes out of its way to marginalize all its gay characters, shove them in the background so they can be easily edited out, and then asks for a pat on the back for doing things like throwing out a maybe-possibly-kinda-gay-if-you-squint LeFou in their Beauty and the Beast remake. The actors who played Poe and Finn wanted them to get into a relationship, but it was shot down by Disney for being too controversial. Disney only ignores the internet chuds because they're marginal. I guarantee that if Disney really stood to lose any money because of the objections of idiots like Mauler, they would bend the knee to them immediately. Corporations aren't anyone's friends.

I haven't gone to look at them, because I'm not in the habit of going out of my way to look at leaked private pictures of people, but apparently a bunch of Adam's photos and videos were shot at the FH offices, including ones where he's jerking it. No idea about whether or not he filmed himself blasting all over someone's keyboard (the clean-up would probably suck), but apparently he also filmed himself coughing onto his co-workers computers or something, which is kind of gross. His wife hasn't really said a whole bunch, but it appears all of this was news to her as well, and based on tweets or activity on social media by Lawrence, Spoole and Rahul, there seems to be no small amount of friction between them and Adam.

The primary reason Snape has such a large and rabid fanbase is because he was played by Alan Rickman in the movies who was both a phenomenal actor who lent Snape a sense of gravitas he never had in the books and was also disarmingly handsome no matter how much the makeup crew tried to hide it. If they'd actually cast somebody who looked and acted the part of the dirty, greasy, whiney incel who is described in the books then I'd wager he'd be far less lionized a character overall.
