Seems like every move the Rangers made today (hopefully including JJ) was for Hartford or to satisfy expansion draft requirements or both Jeff where da NHL signings at

Plus those performance bonus cap problems? I'm honestly not expecting them to sign anyone unless they swing a trade.

https://twitter.com/frank_seravalli/status/1314690382681309185 Keep in mind having no negotiation period before free agency also didn't help matters. Bring back the negotiation period so we can have more signings, NHL. https://twitter.com/TheFourthPeriod/status/1314689783692746752

I really, really hope that all of Heinola, Samberg and Niku are ready and allowed to play by Maurice this year. I do not want to watch another year of Sbisa and Beaulieu, sometimes on the ice at the same time

Now there's a lot of time between now and the start of the season, so a lot of creative cap management is going to bring Pietrangelo home.

Sbisa was still 'decent' compared to Gudbranson. Also 3mil for Virtanen is way too much. I don't understand why they want to hold on to him.

They couldn't trade him for anything because of his arbitration eligibility. Just let him go UFA, you can still make an offer. He was a goddamn healthy scratch in the playoffs They benched him to make room for Loui freaking Eriksson! fisting by many fucked around with this message at 00:18 on Oct 10, 2020 |

If JJ plays most or all his games in Hartford like noted salary cap dump Matt Belesky fine but they signed this guy as a free agent. He is gonna play NHL games and it’s gonna loving suck. I really wanted NYR to get someone on D because I didn’t want Smith out there every night and this is my monkeys paw scenario lol

THE MACHO MAN posted:God the left side is so ugly. Aren't most of the top flight prospects RHD too?? Miller is a LD, Robertson is LD, Schneider can supposedly play either side even though he's a right handed shot On the smaller scale of things, Reunanen is a LD and so is Jones There's no Adam Fox or Nils Lundkvist there but depending on what Miller turns out to be (can he turn his physical gifts and good neutral zone play into something where he can hold down top shutdown minutes?) there's some upside there at least. Robertson is real solid but not a guy you think will be a top pairing. Maybe Schneider could be a complimentary piece to someone like Fox or pair with someone to be a shut down guy. Reunanen feels kinda like a stop gap but is a two way player. Jones is kinda small but has some flashy upside I think It's mostly that they're all at least 1 year away and probably more e: Vince at least seems to think they'll try DeAngelo on the left and run a top four of DeAngelo-Trouba, Lindgren-Fox, and then fill out the bottom pair with Smith, JJ, Bitetto, Hajek, Miller, Reunanen, etc https://twitter.com/vzmercogliano/status/1314695671467970561 Levitate fucked around with this message at 00:51 on Oct 10, 2020 |

I am slightly nervous about being excited for this Brodie signing since the Barrie one didn't work out well. But, I have faith that it will, because he's more of what the Leafs need. Even if Brodie is mediocre, he's a huge upgrade over Ceci playing on Rielly's other side.
