when i started posting here I was making $11.75 an hour as a manager at an ISP. many of us have had great successes and I know how good it feels to be out from under the yoke of paycheck-to-paycheck. That doesn't mean that I've forgotten what it's like.

One big rule about sober october gang: you're allowed to backslide/cheat. this is not some hardcore abstinence poo poo. we're all just worried about each other and trying to cut the drinking down drastically. I already cheated once and had a couple whiskey drinks last week. I had a great evening and an AWFUL morning after. it's okay though!

I've gone down from a bottle of bourbon each day by limiting myself to one Old Fashioned cocktail and then coasting the remainder of the night on High Lifes; but a 6pk of the tall boys goes real quickly to my gut - and this is a big improvement for me because it used to be hard to keep weight on so now I have some actual body fat to work with.
