Even the extra content they added to ARR while waiting for the expansion was noticeably better written and designed, but Heavensward is just dandy. I think part of the reason the story works as well as it does is because of the WoL basically just being you the player instead of playing as a predetermined character, so they're able to connect you more directly to the story happening around you and characters that keep referring to you as a friend and everything. Lopping off huge chunks of MMO grind to get a slightly less compelling story might still be better though, so I'm not saying it's objectively better this way or anything.

The funny thing about my list is I haven't actually bought any next gen consoles. The Switch and PS4 were both presents and I didn't have any interest in purchasing them at the time. I bought the PS3 for fifty bucks off a friend for Demon's Souls lol.

In loose order of when I remember acquiring them: Old Nintendo Super Nintendo Game Boy Game Boy Pocket PC Sega Genesis + Sega CD (It was my not-yet step-dads but I think I "kid-own" that stuff when he married my mom?) Game Boy Colour N64 Atari 2600 Game Boy Advance Gamecube XBOX Nintendo DS Garage-Sale Dreamcast Nintendo Wii PS2 (I'm not actually sure who owned this but we had access to it for a semester in college to play MGS) Xbox360 (50 bucks from a drug dealer who took pity on me having no way to show someone the magic of Katamari since their xbox broke, only played Katamari and Dragon's Dogma on it, idk what happened to it) PS3 (split it with roommate who kept it, only played Ni No Kuni and Tokyo Jungle on it) Nintendo Gold 3DSXL 2DS (was going to mod it but instead just never touched it at all oops) Nintendo Switch

First console I used was my dad's intelivision Consoles I've owned: Nes Snes N64 Gamecube Wii Wii u Switch Genesis Game boy pocket Gba sp Ds An ex roommate gave me his 3ds but it's disassembled because his screen broke, the replacement is there it just needs to be put together but he never did so now it's my thing to never put together. I have owned, at various points NES (later in life) N64 Game Boy Pocket/Color PlayStation Dreamcast (briefly, later in life) GameCube Game Boy Advance PS2 Xbox 360 Wii Nintendo DS PSP PS3 Nintendo 3DS Wii U* PS4 Xbox One Switch And my mom had an Atari if that counts Didn’t get more specific than families (so for instance I had a GBA, SP, and Micro) Easier to list the main ones I never owned since N64: original Xbox, Vita. e: forgot Wii U lol
