Their most recent full length is kinda shoegazy at times. They're all over the place. Newer tracks are bit more like their early stuff. Syd Barrett was cool and a weirdo. I always hated them but that's because I thought it was all just dumb 10 minute guitar solo worship. That was after he stopped being involved I guess. I only listen to that album though. I refuse to listen to any of their other poo poo.

Their first album is whimsical psychedelica about gnomes, bed time fairy tales, and a bike that may or may not be a metaphor for sex.

Man, Spotify sort of breaks hard when two artists have the same name. A new album by an artist with the name Cursive dropped today and while Vitriola and Get Fixed didn't blow my mind, those early LP's and EP's are really loving good. So either these guys took a hard left turn into laptop beats or someone's out to spread a studio project via nefarious means. I can only link Spotify, because it doesn't search easy on youtube. https://open.spotify.com/track/2ddmdViG3wm7S2UNrqp21o?si=Kw53l6L0S0uNlucMh_XqXg

This happens a lot on Spotify and I'm pretty sure I've read it's intentional to get streams via the recommendation engine or something. I dunno why it happens so often with semi-obscure hardcore/emo bands though.

It's funny that i have a Cursive inspired tattoo yet i didn't even know Get Fixed was an album, whoops

I once read an article in VICE like 10-12 years ago about a dude who got an Alkaline Trio tattoo in college and then a few years later he added a little thought bubble to the AK tattoo that said “whoops!” because their last few albums were not that great! The most classical hardcore tattoo is just getting the Thursday bird, much respect

Yeah i don't have any problems with Cursive after Mama I'm Swollen (which itself was fine but i didn't love) it's just I'm only barely exposed to it with no real intention of checking them out. So I don't regret the tattoo because I'm still in love with the first five albums.

i think the most ungoogleable band name would be any band called Rubber. If you searched for Rubber band you'd just get rubber bands, and if you searched Rubber band music then you'd probably just get music made with rubber bands.

Remember in March when everyone was super excited to buy tickets to go see My Chemical Romance, and then their tour dates all got pushed back to next year... I don’t think any of those shows are happening either. Word on the street is that live music is gonna be as dead in ‘21 as it was in ‘20, at least in the US.
