I discovered today I do not have any spooky pictures saved on my computer. Instead, here are the top three most spooky-season-adjacent pictures I could find in my enormous years-spanning and completely unorganized "Downloads" folder.

Please enjoy:

An undead dove!

A peacock's spirit leaving its body!

Ah, something I can contribute to!

Finally, a haunted amusement park with good advertising. I didn't see one ghoul at Six Flags! Total ripoff.

Nothing spookier than Wolfman and a wolf, man. Except for maybe how grumpy that pumpkin is. (edit: grumpkin)

This one goes beyond spooky into downright eerie territory!

I'll take one of each, ma'am.

How many minutes do I have to stay on to get my certificate? My allowance is only $3.

These are from someone's photoshop art project in the late 90s, all they did was add glowy effects to photos from a book on seances from the 50s.

here is the original, and here's s'more

still neat and creepy without the glowy effects

Oh yes, that's right. I'm sorry you didn't survive your night in the haunted house. But at least my best friend is a ghost now.

There's nothing spookier than the rise of corn subsidies and obesity levels in the United States. Radical!

Thanks! I never knew where the originals came from. Here's another oldie I probably saved from the old ghost story threads on here back in the day.

Oh hi, I didn't see you there! Is it time for another spooky post already?

What's that? You want my autograph? Well, I can never say no to a fang fan.

Now, could I interest you in a drink? Perhaps a nice glass of scary sherry?

Oh I get it, off the sauce tonight, eh? Don't want to... lose your head?

And how about a tour of the haunted house? Let me turn on the lights so you can see better.

Have I introduced you to the girls yet? They're working on a secret ceremony for Saturday, I'm just dying to know what it's all about!

The master and mistress of the house? No, I'm afraid they're having a day at the beach.

But the rest of the gang is waiting for you to join them in the funeral parlor. Right this way!

Oh, you're feeling a little tired? Well, you can just feel free to rest here for the night. In peace!

Keith Thompson is one of my favourite artists, and I have a print of this piece:

APOLLONIAN WIGHT posted:

When experiments testing the viability of tapping into the quantum vacuum for energy were performed on the Apollo 21 Lab Station, reports devolved into strange ramblings about how their conclusions were inconceivable to human minds. Before all communication ceased, garbled messages were sent to earth from the astronauts about their experiments revealing to them the "howling face of the sun." A rescue crew was violently repulsed from the station by corpses in the astronaut's space suits. Footage of the incident show ghostly images of tormented figures hanging just behind these corpses, struggling, but seemingly unable to pull themselves apart from their decaying bodies.

I have often wondered if Christopher Lee would be able to do "camp" as well as Peter Cushing and/or Vincent Price.

I, for one, would have loved to watch him being "camp" in a film.
