I’ve tried several and I can’t get into any of them They all take like 2 hours to establish a plot, everything moves at a snail’s pace Sometimes a premise is interesting and then It’s always executed in the dumbest way Why is everything so drawn out? And it all looks like the same poo poo, none of these characters stand out. I couldn’t describe any of them to you Also, how is everything happening in high school? Do the Japanese not have experiences once high school is done? And so much of it is porn I have Covid and I’m so loving tired I really liked Paranoia Agent when I saw it years ago and I dare not return to the well

Corpse Party - a horror show where scooby and the gang go to a cursed elementary school Pros- only 4 episodes, got through all of them Was gory Cons- was boring as gently caress - who is anybody? One kids a teen but acts like a five year old -there’s a gratuitous crotch shot of a 12 year old (or maybe they’re supposed to be 18? Idk) - they solve a mystery by reading some books or poo poo, thrilling to watch - one kids motivation is they need to pee

^^^^The 4K IMAX re-release of Akira is in cinemas right now. Also 'Night is Short, Walk on Girl' is a recent one worth checking out. Tekkonkinkreet is an older one worth checking out. Movies have a greater likelihood of being good/not being exclusively for or needing to pander to the niche tastes of perverts and social outcasts.

  I also think anime is poopy, boring stuff aimed at perverts who just want to see elementary school kids squeal "Kawaii", and "Senpai". But I like Anpanman. A Japanese children's cartoon where the goodies are all anthropomorphic hominids with food for a head. There is Currypanman, (whose head is bread filled with curry), Shokupanman, (whose head is a whitebread loaf), Melonpanna, (I think you can guess what her head is made of) etc. And the main dude Anpanman. Whose head is a bun filled with red bean paste. He flies around rescuing children and all that superhero jazz. And when he finds them, they are hungry, so he rips a piece off his head to give them a tasty treat. His main weaknesses are water, (which makes his head soggy and inedible), and going stale. When that happens, the two kindly bakers just make a new one, and throw it at him, where it knocks the old one away, and replaces it. Filling Anpanman with new strength and virility. His main enemy is Baikinman. The anthropomorphized ideal of bacteria. Baikinman's friends are Dokinchan, (a cute pink demoness with a crush on Shokupanman), and Horrorman, (a shabbily dressed skellington with a crush on Dokinchan.) It is huge in Japan. But both it's intended and actual audience are actual kindergarten and elementary school kids, (as opposed to weird pervy adults wanting to watch cartoons about elementary kids.), so I dunno if it counts as anime. I used to watch a lot of anime in the late 80/early 90s when the stuff available was mostly just 90 minute or less films. I've tried watching some series stuff but for the most part they're all overly long with too much naff teen drama in them that I have no interest in.N.
