One of the top rated posts was a white silicon valley moron ranting about how anti white everything had become, and he couldn't get a GF and was entitled to one and how Trump was a direct result of all of that. They should all be lobotomized.

I can't get a gf but it's because of my personality not because you can't get away with saying the n-word in public 🤷♂️

Men can be fired for taking paternity leave (boingboing.net) startrek9921 4 hours ago Not saying I condone this but... Sometimes you gotta read the room. Disney streaming was probably about to launch. There are certain times in life (initial launch being one of them) that you don't want distractions. A new family is a HUGE distraction. Also, not sure the snark was necessary: > Could universal paid parental leave finally be the issue that unites Men's Rights Activists and Actual Normal Gender Equality Activists?

Your decision to join a company like ours and then start a family clearly reflects inexcusably poor judgment, so obviously this termination is for cause

If you are unproductive when coding C++, you are Doing It Wrong. Good C++ code flows like water. If you are finding it complex, you have gone down a side alley, and need to get back to the wide, sunny boulevard. I frequently sit down and write 2000 lines of C++ code, and when it compiles, it works. Aim for that.

The C++ meme is that 2000 lines of code turns into a 2000 line template expansion error message that you need to dig through to figure out that you forgot an & somewhere.

I'm amazed that there's still anyone who cares about correct rest verb style between the people who are like "gently caress it just dump it in the json and call it a day" on one hand and the megalomaniacal graphql fetishists on the other.

reply to that tweet: https://twitter.com/sigwinch28/status/1322499040446238720 and i can't explain why i find this real real amusing, like chatting to a coworker about some dumb new tech thing and then in an slightly embarrasing hushed tone "yeah i read it on that orange website" because if you don't say the name you don't have to admit you read it unironically sometimes hn thread: pretty much the orange website in a nutshell
