If you want to see how ridiculous HoloEN has been, some japanese fan compiled stats on almost all the holos (I think sora is missing?) and one of them is unique member chats in October. This is a way to estimate a lower bound on membership size, and it obviously doesn't tell you the tier, but still useful: 3 of the top 4 are HoloEN and Gura has twice as many subs as 2nd place wtf Surprising things for me: Polka crushing it! Haachama being so low. Lamy is ranked pretty high and is also top 3 in superchats, wtf do people see in that elf?!?!

I don't have time to watch the entirety of multiple pekora minecraft streams but I'm curious, how is she making her high-level enchanted items? I know she has a mob grinder, does she just do lv30 enchantments on several e.g. diamond swords and then combine them? Or does she have some villagers to trade for books as well?

Like you said she has the mob farming trap tower that the JPs all use to grind up to whatever level needed for enchantments, but her and Aqua (and maybe some of the others) both have villager prison/breeding farms for trading as well. I've seen her do both on stream when she needs to, but most of the time I think she preps whatever gear she may need off-stream beforehand.

The Josephs were the first villagers that she zombified and cured, and doing that one of the things you usually do for villager trades (it's not required but it helps a shitload) so I don't think she does that. So she mostly just enhances books at her tower with lapis lazuli (her extorting Moona out of her lapis was the start of their adventure). 3 lapis for a high-level enhancement is a decent enough deal.

Just like some people like watching horrible little gremlins like Amelia, Polka, and Pekora because they're hilarious, some people like watching sweet/gentle/chill streamers sometimes too, which Lamy fits the bill for. She also has an extremely high power level when she's paired off with the goofier streamers.

The source of all of this is monumentally stupid, but it's not like Chinese companies don't have a huge list of examples of what happens to the business of companies in China who don't go out of their way to please ultra-nationalists. Even with no involvement from the Chinese government, it's just safer for them to toe the line, regardless of their personal opinions.

It should be noted that not all Hololive Muse Dash streams have been privated (as of right now): apparently, it was only Gura and the one Haato did yesterday. Whether this means the other channels just haven't gotten around to doing it or if the "sanction" isn't all-encompassing remains to be seen.
