My 5900 order on Scan just went through. Hopefully due to getting it done within the first 5 minutes of release I won't be waiting 2-or-so months like I have been for the 3080. Still waiting for that to be "picked"

You can go to them but even when they were available you could not add to cart, unless you saw someone buy one or got one yourself I suspect I could drive to microcenter and get one, but I just dont care that much, ill keep an eye on bestbuy or grab a restock

Oops I snagged a 5600x on Amazon after saying I wouldn't when they came back. I do not pay tax on Amazon so if I end up getting a 5800x I will happily sell this to a MA goon for $300 flat & a joint unless I am able to cancel before it ships

Looks like Amazon sold out of the first batch of 5600X's. You can still buy it, but the expected delivery date has slipped from 10 Nov to 16 Nov already.

Was able to place an order for a 5600x on Newegg but canceled it after getting an order in on Amazon instead since I had $10 off waiting to be used there. Now waiting for some (hopefully great) deals on b550 boards and ram during Black Friday / Cyber Monday to go with it.

GN's review is pretty impressive. For the most part AMD is now winning even where Intel used to win. In a few months when there's either a 5600 or the 5600X is cheaper, it's going to be a very good time for people on the fence to upgrade.

I think I may get the 5600X, but I don't know which motherboard/chipset I should get. AFAIK B550 should have PCIE 4.0 too now for my imaginary 3080 that I'm still waiting on, so what are the improvements on X570? And which boards are good?

5950x uses 120 watts at load, versus the 138 watts of the 3950x, while also delivering 20%+ increase in single threaded performance.  Very impressive results. I'm fighting the urge to do something stupid like selling my 3950x and getting a 5900x

Managed to grab a 5900x from scan with the site only half melting, while I was in a work meeting no less. But I think they ran out of stock halfway through my checkout, and now I've got a pre-order for November 20th. That's okay, I guess, if it does ship then, since I'm not actually receiving my PSU and case from them till a week later. And now to second-guess myself and check out actual benches to decide on a 5800x vs 5900x, woop.
