Surprised no one's talkin about it! Probably gonna give it a shot tonight.

I binged it this week. It is really fun! Every episode has a different "case" but they'll all tie in together. There are also some cool cameos that you'll enjoy. Good show and there should certainly be a S2

It's good but it's insanely slow, it doesn't really get going until like episode 4

It’s chaotic and stupid. Watch the first sketch and you’ll know if it’s for you or not. I like it.

I enjoyed it, good mix of horror, suspense and comedy. In some ways it feels like a Black Mirror script that was cut for not being bleak enough. Solid performances from Frost, Pegg, Malcolm McDowell and Julian Barratt, plus newcomers. Has a nice little appearance from Kelly MacDonald who I guess will come back if they get a second season. On that note, it has a helluva twist ending hook for Season 2.

I am amused that between this and The Boys Season 2, someone at Amazon seems to greenlight shows if and only if they feature gratuitous head explosions.

It actually took me the second episode to get into it but it's a soft recommend. It's very silly.

I'm 3 episodes in. It's very silly and funny. My Australian friends say it doesn't have a very Australian sense of humor.

I can't get the song from the latest How To With John Wilson out of my head. I keep having to stop myself from singing it.

I thought the first episode was ok, but the series has really grown on me. The narration annoyed me at first with the constant pausing between words but I guess I've gotten used to it now. There's obvious similarities to Nathan For You, although I don't think anything will beat that show. It's a great showcase of genuine human weirdness, but like NFY it doesn't spend time mocking or judging the people on it, which is saying something because there are some real freaks on this show.

Well, of course I know him.

I honestly wonder how much of it is genuine and how much is scripted.

That guy from the latest episode has to be 100% genuine though.

I’m enjoying the concept but the way the narrator speaks drives me completely insane. I can’t help but feel I would like it much more with almost anyone else narrating.

Yeah, I didn't mind it in the first episode but then it started to drive me up the wall. I've gotten a bit more used to it though. I don't mind the nasally voice, it's the constant slight hesitation and trailing off between words that happens multiple times a sentence. Like, I get that it's like this on purpose but it honestly does detract from the show a bit for me.

In the Vow, Mark comes across as a complete idiot and terrible husband; the sort of rube who will believe anything someone says to him in an authoritative manner. I'm through ep5 and I think the through line is that everyone who got involved were desperate for attention and a sense of belonging.

Re the ending of Truth Seekers season 1: so were they demons or aliens? The whole show was more supernatural/demon oriented but that was the Voyager plaque, wasn't it?

edit: ...or maybe they're ghost things from a real alien Eternis? Not really sure how much of what Toynbee was selling was real.

Just get a digital antenna and watch old person TV instead, it's the best. I mean, there's a channel just for Westerns, what more could you want? Plus, none of the ads are directed at anyone under 70 so they're not as annoying because they're not targeting you.

Yeah I get that one too. Right around 3am with no sleep it's like falling through a yellow filmy vortex to a decade before my own birth. Or it would be if not for the ads for vastly overpriced facemasks and miracle cures (no prescription required!)

Although if it were meaningless sports broadcasts from the same era, that would also be acceptable.

Buzzr can be watched for free online a few different ways. Pluto was mentioned, but also Stirr, a streaming site owned by the people who own Buzzr.

Comet can also be watched on the Comet website and I think they have apps as well.

Also, I don't know if you know this, but you can watch ALL NFL games via the NFL app (iOS, not sure about Android). I'm not sure if it's just for this season, but either way, it's good they're doing it.

Truth Seekers is a weird show. It's a comedy horror, but it leans a lot further towards the creepy horror side of things than you'd expect while still carrying itself like a comedy. It makes for a very odd feeling show, but I'm still really enjoying it.

Sounds kind of like the first season of Supernatural, tonally. That had a lot more horror leanings than the bombastic rest of the seasons, so if this show has that tone as a ghost hunting thing that sounds fun.

My only issue is that it feels like the scripts needed just one more pass through a writer's room. Had a weird half baked feeling.

Malcolm McDowell was great though

speaking of live streaming tv, anyone used pluto.tv? i saw it in my tv's app store so i decided to check it out. didn't even need to sign up for an account or anything, just instantly streaming 200+ channels of weird, mostly old tv shows and movies for free. apparently it's another one of viacom's many streaming services

if you're in the mood to flip channels or mindlessly put something on in the background it might be worth checking out. there's even a mst3k channel (plus a rifftrax channel)

e: oh, missed that it was mentioned earlier
