gonna go to bed early and hopefully make some beer tomorrow. i spent a couple hours today deep cleaning my brewing stuff because I think my last batch tasted like it ran through a garden hose still having a strong beer and a little whiskey before I go to bed though

I just finished an unhealthy midnight snack of mac n cheese and leftover turkey. No booze these days because it plays too well with my pain meds. Of course, if the meds worked better, I'd be asleep by now. . .

Haven't posted much lately but still been trashin' Tonight / this morning going with a favorite old standby for me, Canadian Club and Canada Dry ginger ale. Strong theme drink. From experience, if you happen to be in the USA on the Fourth of July drinking this combo without putting any real thought into it, and your neighbors ask you what you are drinking, you might get some funny looks. We laughed about it

I try to stick to two or three a night. Even then, compatibility is important. I remember in college drinking wine with some friends, and when they left I switched to beers. Evidently I had too much of both, since I woke up covered in vomit.

In my experience, and maybe this is just me with a long drinking record, but it has less to do with "mixing different things" then it does with "I drank so many things it caught up to me" or "I drank that one thing that really screws me over".

it's sugary stuff that goes pear-shaped for me. regular beer, dry cider, or hard liquor are fine but when I drink a lot of wine or sweet fizzy drinks it goes to hell
