I'm really too stupid to post a whole thread about group reading. But we really need one. An accessible one where we joke around and smack these writers as if they were shitposters. Lambast them mercilessly, as a purpose, as if we were Nietzsche himself. And if one such were posted... Maybe someone other than a new and suspicious account such as mine could make the thread?

If the thread could be posted and the mood thus established, if we could hurl rocks at these previously unassailable luminaries and smash their lightbulbs for our joyous forensic examination...

Such a venue on this forum would be a thing that could, possibly, be the humble axis upon which a great lever might move the world.

Hello. I'm a worker. I have a state college degree that I bought very cheaply so that I could have a job. It afforded me very little other than that. I took a political philosophy course. It taught me about locke. and Kant. And the labor theory of value. That's it.

I show up to protests, and I see people who seem to be very informed. They know who Rossaeu is. They refer to all kinds of stuff I haven't had the time or patience to muddle through. They say they've read Das Kapital. I've literally seen some dumb full ride scholarship fucker at a sit in protest sleep on a copy of it as a kind of loving show. I have an itching feeling that their practice is one of burgeouise obscurantism that is just kind of another way of distinguishing themselves as superior to me and mine. People who actually have to do poo poo. Seriously, there are basic truths about what I'm experiencing which are there to be grasped, but they're obscured through the bullshit of academia, the fact that it's all old language that makes no loving sense, that it's all buried in some kind of universe of knowlege I need to go through some kind of necessary bullshit before I can understand, or whatever. They're holding this poo poo away from me. I've got a huge inferiority complex, because there's all kinda bullshit I'm faulted for not reading or knowing.

This thread, I think, should be a basic look at stuff, that we could read through. I'd like for us to "engage" some texts with the understanding that, in fact, these people aren't vaunted luminary lights of lumination, they are, in fact, shitposters of an olden age, whose language has been exalted to a kind of performative something that makes people like us feel like it means more than it actually does.

Nietzsche tried to clue us in, in his book the gay science, by trying to phrenologically examine a bust of socrates, and then thereby declare him a deviant pervert criminal. I think we should phrenologically do the same to the supposed luminaries of these people. We should take their works, and with a lassoo, rope them down to earth, smash their ideas apart with our crude cudgels and such, and then reassemble them into something that is useful to us.

So, I'd like to start this out with a piece that I feel is extremely short and accessible and also really, really illuminates the basic DNA of the psychology of the fascist. It is a very rarely known title, it's not respected by academics, and so it should suit us just fine, it is Sartre's "Anti-Semite and The Jew." There's a picture of a passage of this book which you all thought was by umburt's ur fascist work, but I don't know how to attach it via desktop so I'll do it by reply. You'll know it when you see it. It's great.

I'd like to buy a copy of this book for anyone who wants to join along. I am not a rich person, but I want to spend money to give a hard copy of this book to anyone who is down with following us through it. I'll try to piece through it and figure out a sort of I dunno assignment list and I can also put a cross reference? cross link of stuff I think might be interesting to that portion of the reading.

I'd like to stress that fascists are swine and liberalll loving die but first lets take these people that the academics have claimed exclusive interpretation of like some kind of priests, and take them down to our level and realize that they are in fact the sniping shitposters that we suspect them to be and that we can ban them or probate them or realize they're pets of the mods and gain insight from that

I posted that opening post on desktop. I sound way worse when having to type my words by keyboard because I have a great deal of difficulty writing. The phone spells words for me, which makes it much easier to organize my thoughts. I'm going to improve that opening post, and I will also go through the primary text that I've recommended, and, if you all might be interested in following me through the text, or the long form effort shitpost as we should consider it, discussing it, dissecting it, and mastering it.

Edit: I am not a person with much money. But I also have very few things in this world I value. With that in perspective, I am quite wealthy. One of the things I value is the access to important texts, in hard copy. To that end, if you are without means, I would like to find a way to give you this first text. In hard copy. Consider yourself, such a recipient, one of my few luxuries, a thing that brings me joy. In that spirit, please bless me with assisting you in the acquisition of our first text. It would be one of the things that gives me joy and hope. Be a participant in this without hesitation, if you are in need. The details, while essential, are unimportant.

This is our quarry. Sartre. A fainting dandy whose florid exhultations yet carry forth on gossamer wings the ephemeral seed of our essential study. We're gonna nail it with the hard fury of a thousand beleaguered mineworkers.

I'm not spending money on the text. I'm spending money on occupying a space in someone's home, an object that accosts them for not reading it.

I want to our text to be inside your apartment. I want it to be in your living space. I want to make it look at you, accusingly, for not reading it.

For what we pay landlords for apartment space, I'm getting a bargain for paying you to tolerate an annoying roommate, urging you towards the material struggle, crying out as a conversation piece to your guests, something to explain, a thing subtly insinuating itself thereby into the identity you present to others, and, then, the identity you attribute to yourself.

I'm buying your living space and your soul. The text is just garnish.

For the sake of accessibility, because I'm also learning impaired, for our first reading chapter or whatever, as soon as I can figure it out, I'm going to read as audio the first chapter we go through together. I'm on shift today, I'm in the back of a truck right now, but after this, I'll record myself reading the first bit of our book. It'll be lovely bit it'll be ok for those of us that need it.

Maybe I'll record it and post it and you guys can help me make it a podcast. I don't know. However these things are easily made available. It's just gonna be me reading text.

op i read volume one of capital while at work on my phone and it honestly wasn’t bad at all. i’ve never been to college or formally studied philosophy or economics or anything. marx is a fun writer imo. https://www.marxists.org/subject/marxmyths/humphrey-mcqueen/article.htm

i agree with you that there’s a lot of academic bullshit around useful texts that sort of turns them into useless garbage if there ever was any substance to it. taking something like marx and fitting it into preconceived bourgeois ideas of the world rather than honestly engaging with what is being said.

i’ve been meaning to dig into more marx and engels and lenin and such. marx made at least two books that were basically him eviscerating other popular socialists of the time and its kind of hilarious. my favorite is his response to proudhon’s the philosophy of poverty, titled the poverty of philosophy, which has this as its introduction:
“M. Proudhon has the misfortune of being peculiarly misunderstood in Europe. In France, he has the right to be a bad economist, because he is reputed to be a good German philosopher. In Germany, he has the right to be a bad philosopher, because he is reputed to be one of the ablest French economists. Being both German and economist at the same time, we desire to protest against this double error.”

Just downloaded the e-book and I'll happily be reading and hopefully contributing. Good idea OP ^^

Also, speaking of Das Kapital, I just had this playlist recommended to me. It seems like a good way to get the key points from volume I without actually having to read the 900 page monstrosity.

You're not far off.

My German grandfather was assigned to stand in full battle uniform with others at a train stop, to function as a human show piece, when receiving the minor foreign dignitary Lenin.

Rather than stepping off the train and shaking the dignified hands he was supposed to shake, Lenin instead leapt from the train onto the platform, ignored the intended dignitaries, and then went to each of the soldiers, grasping their hands, pressing into them handbills that he'd had printed just then, and told them as their superiors watched that they'd never have to stand like this, as human ornaments, again.

Sly, sly devil.

He stood at a train stop. In a costume.

I, myself, climb into large metal ducts the size of a small room. I nurse coils of coolant, all so that cauliflower from Belgium will not spoil before it's delivered, to be purchased, and then, by a large spoilage margin, consumed.

I work an unholy defiance against the seasons ascribed upon man, animal, plant, and nature itself by what is mocked in His very image on the clay of our creation by God himself.

The strange noises emerging from the machines I work, the disgusting, sad, and spoiled break rooms I frequent, the filthy truck stops I attend as handmaiden to our company's shipments, I will never find Lenin there. I will never shake his hand. I'll read about his statues, dropped under the sea. But I'll never, in my life, in the endlessness of the toils I endure, as I work every day to throw same down a bottomless well of greedy hunger, I'll never see Lenin. I'll never shake his hand. I'll never be so uplifted as my grandfather was. I'll never know freedom. I'll only know chill blisters on my fingers, pain and suffering, waiting, as we all do, for our next Lenin. He will exist. He must exist. Until we know him, I will work. But still, I'll suckle on my own tears for lack of a mother, of a father, of any glimmer of hope.

But I repair very large cooling systems. It sucks. Cell phone reception is rear end in my metal tomb.
