What gets me about the hardcore bitcoin zealots is that they can't accept that they've won. Bitcoin, despite being really stupid and wasteful, has carved out a niche for itself over this last decade. Sure, mostly it's a way for people to buy drugs on the internet (or, at least, an intermediary step for converting their USD into something that can be used to buy drugs on the internet), but that is a real, practical use. Combining that with the number of nerds who have decided to put small percentage of their figgies as bitcoin "savings" and bitcoin is significantly more secure now than we ever imagined when we made the first threads mocking the whole concept.

But no, the zealots can't accept that bitcoin has found its place. They have to believe that hyperbitcoinization is coming, that the entire world order will be torn down and rebuilt with themselves at the top. And thus, even in winning they lose.

i think it was heresiarch (pbuh) who pointed out you literally had to be very stupid to make any money on bitscoin. if you mined 100 btc when it was all a penny, you'd be dumb not to sell it when it was a dollar, or ten. if not at those peaks, why this one?

Its not even really about being at the top of the new world order so much as it is a psychological need to see people who disagreed with them punished, imo.

When posting their rapture but for fedoras hyperbitcoinization fantasies they never can settle for talking about all the trappings of material status they will have in heaven Satoshi's promised economy. They always have to post borderline torture porn about how destitute the nocoiners will be begging for scraps of a millionth of a Satoshi.

should have done it on amazon because then you could just put in a random card half the time. i buy amazon returned merch at auction sometimes and the amount of fraud is honestly staggering

i can't believe people haven't been writing stories about this very much. computers getting returned stripped of cpu and video card and ram, video cards swapped out, obvious hard drives switched, projectors getting labels pulled off and replaced with those 480p things, etc., etc. just huge, massive fraud.

i know this happens at brick and mortar stores too but there's no way it's at this level

If it was crypto related my only guess was they kept buying and returning cards in case there was another 2018 style shortage. Just to have them on hand with 0 risk apart from getting banned from best buy.

Otherwise I've got no clue why someone would buy, then return so many cards.

you've invested in bitcoin because you thought the price was going to go up, it did go up, you made a bunch of money from it because you sold it to a bunch of other people who thought it would go up even further.

congrats on recognising a bubble and profiting from it. i don't understand why the term "bubble" offends you so much - it's exactly how you're treating it and exactly why you made money from it.

why get so upset about the word?

I've made some money from it, sure. But Bitcoin is about so much more than mere short term profits. Bitcoin is a world-changing innovation.

Bubble is inaccurate, because bubbles pop. As for the rest, I've already explained it to you:

BlockchainMorpheus posted:

Do you think we have that now? Do you think the current system is fair and just?

You're so close to getting it. Allow me to illuminate. You're right, in that capitalism almost certainly cannot survive with a bitcoin-based financial system. Have you considered the possibility that perhaps it was never meant to?

One thing is certain: Bitcoin is a financial singularity. Once we cross the event horizon (hyperbitcoinization), there is no going back. Capitalism as we know it will soon come to an end. This was going to happen with or without Bitcoin, but is greatly accelerated by the more or less arbitrary redistribution of all wealth, which has already begun.

What comes next, I can't say. As I see it, there are two possibilities: Crpyto-socialism, and crypto-fascism/feudalism. Many bitcoiners seem to be pining for the latter, a trend I find rather disturbing. I pray we arrive at the former, with minimal bloodshed. I'll do everything in my limited power to ensure that we do. That said, I have accumulated over 200 BTC to ensure the survival of my loved ones and myself in any eventuality.

then why do you cower away when the price is crashing but register 6000 accounts when it's spiking? the main feature of a bubble is the only reason people invest in it is because they think the price will go up. you only post when you can say "see!! the price is going up!!!" and you buy redtext that says nothing besides "you're dumb because the price went up".
