It's his best book, IMO. I actually think Chasm City might be his best even if it really could have done with cutting down a bit and had a bit too much stuff thrown in. I decided to read lord of the rings again for the first time since I was 12 and wow Sam is just explicitly Frodo’s manservant. not an original take I’m sure, but I missed all the class stuff reading it whilst being a child.
