KingKapalone posted:How do I non-lethally takedown one of the Cyberpsychos for the side gig? You just kill them like any other NPC. They fall down and are incapacitated instead of actually being dead. Edit: At least that's how it worked in my game. I might have had a bug or it may be a general bug that will eventually be fixed, but I didn't have to do anything to get them to count as still alive after killing them like any other NPC.

I don't know why, but the game changed my hair color. Since there doesn't appear to be an option to change your appearance once you start the game, and I don't know how far back the change happened because I have been wearing a helmet, I'm a little annoyed.

deep dish peat moss posted:So far it doesn't seem like the way I handle missions has any impact outside of the way that specific mission's story plays out. For example I've done multiple quests where I was supposed to go talk to someone by walking in and accidentally pissing someone off and slaughtering the entire place. The closing dialog for the mission will say something like "wow you're bloodthirsty huh? haha" but then no one else anywhere in the game ever refers to me that way. I've walked into some gang bases and killed every last one of them and then gang members around the city still just ignore me unless I invade their personal bubble. I'm taking the aggressive kill everyone, steal everything reward whenever possible because it seems to give the most payout - is there anything coming later on in the game where this will actually reflect in the way people treat me or talk about me or anything? Several times now I have gotten a 'bonus' from a drop point by doing a mission a certain way. Like staying stealthed and not killing people, or talking someone down instead of fighting them.

Few pages ago, but anything in the Body perks that doesn't explicitly say blunt weapons applies to all melee weapons (including blades). Anything that says blunt weapons seems to apply to hand to hand just fine (and presumably gorilla arms). Note the main +melee damage from increasing Body stat also applies to blades. Not sure if it's actually better to go all in on Reflexes if you are in a katana build. Might be worth losing some of the top perks to get in damage bonuses and extra hp/stamina from Body. I've gone heavy in Body and generic melee perks and blades still hit like a truck. It actually synergizes with hacking better than a heavy Reflexes build because you get so much tankier from Body that helps running into range. Haven't decided if I'm gonna commit to a type of weapon or just keep doing generic melee perks and just use whatever is best. Some of this testing I did with cheatengine where you can respec attributes. If you don't want to just straight up cheat you can drop an attribute by X and then add X to your available ability points. Using cheatengine with a buggy game might seem risky but I used them just to make these adjustments and then turned CE off. I had no crashes for a few more hours of play with an edited save and didn't see any more glitches. I haven't tested this extensively but it feels like you can knock people out with blunt weapons (or hand to hand) and generate less noise than slicing them up with the katana. I was blinding people and then running up and punching them and wasn't alerting nearby guards the way silenced guns or katana seems to.

Is it viable to do a melee build without reflexes? I started doing a body-int-tech build thinking I could hack fools from afar and then chop them up if they got close, but I wasn't looking at the actual perk trees so I didn't realize the sword skills were under reflexes. Are there enough non-sword melee weapons to make that work, or could I get by with swords by having a just a few points in reflexes? I'm only level 4, so I wouldn't mind ditching body and focusing on reflexes from now if that would be stronger.

Reflexes-Cool seems a better synergy since blade perks work well with cold blood. There are also a ton of blunt weapons but for whatever reason I got few at the start. Eventually you end up with plenty

I'm a good way in now and the game is definitely losing its lustre for me. There are some great moments in here but I'm increasingly unable to overlook the flaws and shortcomings, and that outside of the big setpiece missions and some good conversational bits, I'm doing the same open world stuff I've done a hundred times before. Which, to be fair, doesn't mean I hate it, and in CDPR's defense I explicitly asked for an open world cyberpunk game more than once, but I'm starting to feel it falls a little short in too many areas.

There are several pieces of cyberware that make hacking so much better-- a good cyberdeck, for one. There's also cortex implants that give RAM back on kill, speed up the regen, and other good stuff. Also don't forget to use Breach Protocol on them if they're resistant to hacks, even the default lowering the cost by 1 RAM is huge. E: Memory Boost is the cyberware that gives RAM back on kill. There's also Ex-Disk, which just increases your total RAM.

I've been playing reflexes + cool with a little bit in body going pure katana. Blade, Stealth, and Cold Blood go very well together. Basically a super high crit build where you regen HP on every kill which stacks a bunch of passives onto you. The only issue are boss fights on hard / very hard.

Anyone tested if blade perks apply to mantis blades? Though that would seem terrible synergy since your katana probably hits harder so why not just run around with your katana instead. Not sure how quick you can leap attack with the blades and then switch back to sword. Otherwise it seems like mantis blades are for giving pistol/rifle builds a melee option without needing a weapon slot.

He hates governments, he hates the corporations, he just wants to burn the whole system down but I sure as hell wouldn't call him a Marxist. He doesn't exactly have a plan to replace it with anything. Also like, looking into the background lore a bit more, Johnny's assault on Arisaka was actually him leading a Militech corporate assault team to try and end their war with Arisaka, which he held a grudge against more for them kidnapping his girlfriend more than anything. Like, already I found two blade mods for mantis blades as loot even though I don't have the arms. One physical (I guess they default to burn?)), and one that turns them into electric damage.
