In seriously shocking news, Seattle does NOT win MLS Cup again. Instead, Columbus wins their second-ever MLS Cup! Crazy. Anyway, this season was a mess after Matchday 2 and I'm glad it's over. Why? Because now, my hometown of Austin is OFFICIALLY a major-league town! Here's the offseason league schedule: December 13 - Trade Window is open for four hours. December 15 - Expansion Draft December 15-22 - Concacaf Champions League continues, then concludes December 16 - End-of-Year Waivers and Free Agency begins December 17 - Re-Entry Process, Stage 1 December 20 - Re-Entry Process, Stage 2 January 19 or 21 - SuperDraft Sometime in February, probably - 2020 Canadian Championship (Forge vs. Toronto) Sometime in mid-March - Austin FC (and the rest of MLS) start the 2021 season!

Nobody actually voted for the Crew in the poll I made for the playoff thread...although I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people were turned off by all of the options/the snarkiness of them. I'd also put an asterisk in front of all of those dates because *gestures outside*

Does Austin have a stadium or will they be playing in some 100000 seat high school football stadium in the suburbs? Because that’s the Revs brand and you can’t take it.

Still feel drunk from the win. Barely slept I was so pumped. It literally feels unreal that I had pretty much accepted that I lost my team three years ago, to us saving the team, getting a new owner, getting a new stadium, and winning the cup. Like how is that even real... It feels fake even typing it. The only thing that could have made it better is if I had been there in person (I was there when we lost in 2015), but covid is a bitch. Also gently caress Precourt, gently caress Garber, gently caress Austin, Go Crew.

Half day trade window ended. Austin got Nick Lima (SJE), Julio Cascante (POR), Ben Sweat (MIA) and Ulises Segura (DCU), all for cash. Nashville and Portland both traded away international spots to Atlanta and NYC for cash (respectively). Colorado also got a Chicago's #6 SuperDraft selection for cash, which means Chicago just robbed Colorado because who in their right mind would spend $125k on a draft spot?

Only real player of note for Philly is Ilsinho. He makes a fair chuck of change and clearly lost a step from previous years. Everyone else exposed is a non-entity, so Ilsinho might be Austin FC choice be default. Hopefully he can stick around in Philly another year, but if not, The Ilsinho Game will live forever

Here's Austin's expansion draft picks. Danny Hoesen - F (SJE) Jared Stroud - MF (NYR) Brady Scott - GK (NSH) Joe Corona - MF (LAG) Kamal Miller - D (ORL) Miller immediately got traded to Montreal for cash and a draft pick. Me reading the list of names: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR-bsTkkXVY

NYC at 7/1 is astounding. The Red Bulls and them should be closer to 1000/1 because That's So Metro. Yes, I know that's a Red Bulls thing, but we all just saw NYC lose in penalties because their last shot got saved by a center back. They've joined the club. whypick1 fucked around with this message at 21:13 on Dec 16, 2020 |

Crazy Ted posted:Is there a conversion rate on GARBER$ to US$ Much like Bitcoin, that information is proprietary. What IS known is that $1.25 million in GAM is more than the total amount given to an expansion team just for the sake of being new (if MLS hasn't upped the number from $1.1 million since 2018).

Ready for some MLS fuckery? Joe Corona, who was selected by Austin in the expansion draft, has just been selected by Houston in the re-entry draft. https://twitter.com/tombogert/status/1341455716293472262 tl;dr i've gotten is Houston now owns his rights as an MLS player, so Austin will have to pay Houston for it if they actually want to sign him. Or Corona could just say gently caress all this and go play in Liga MX. And in SKC news: https://twitter.com/SportingKC/status/1341458652927062022 Probably means one of three things: Busio is getting sold, Espinoza is on his way out, or Gutierrez isn't coming back. I wonder if the Red Bull’s will go sign a DP or if this is still just the Kaku show. I’m also curious if they think White/Barlow is really the solution at striker.

Now announce that we're keeping Joao Paulo and that we've fired Joevin Jones out of a cannon into the sun. In unrelated news, Pablo Mastroeni became a turncoat and will join RSL as an assistant coach. What's even more surprising about this (to me) is that as part of the deal RSL is sending Houston (his former employer) $50k in GAM. I guess the "General" in "General Allocation Money" really does mean general.
