I fell off Marvel movies hard a number of years ago, and made it a sorta roundabout project last year to get caught up through Endgame. I just made a list of movies that were relevant and/or highly regarded and worked through it over 6ish months. If you are in the same boat, I would not recommend doing that. Just pick them at random for heroes or actors you like and ignore the MCU poo poo. What a collosal loving waste of potential.

i watched the last 5 or so leading up to endgame and then went back and watched iron man 1 and it was hilarious endgame is literally gamemasteranthony's birthday and it's essentially impossible to even follow what's going on, just three hours of noise and color and explosions and music with 200 named characters pulling out a new weapon every 3 seconds to annihilate an endless supply of zerglings while giant spaceships are shooting giant lasers everywhere then you go back to iron man 1 and the big battle is iron man punching a guy in a different iron man suit in an industrial park and the climax is he flies up really high in the air and falls back down.

I liked gotg, thor: ragnarok, and into the spiderverse. They felt like movies that knew they were superhero movies and didn't take themselves too seriously.

yeah endgame is basically wrestlemania. all your friends are here and they're all punching each other while a shitload of fireworks go off I watched every mcu movie except the spidermans and then quit. nowhere to go but down, really, we'll probably never see an event movie like that again even if marvel does another full cycle

mcu poo poo is extremely samey structurally and at no point in any individual movie’s character development or narrative matter because they’ll hit the reset button for the overall arc at a drop eg iron man 3 to ultron or ragnarok to infinity war and frankly for any given mcu allotment the dialogue will tell you why sad man is sad or anger man is anger so just watch whatever but most of the dc poo poo is worse

i haven't heard any specific accusations against any of the chrises except for the one above about chris pine being gross to strippers. chris pratt is a weirdo jesus freak who dumped his age-appropriate wife for arnold schwarezenegger's daughter after he got famous (though apparently she also liked him chubby and found herself unattracted when he started to get ripped to be a superhero) but i have not heard that he's an actual sex pest or anything. chris evans is indistinguishable from captain america to me, boring boy scout who looks like every hockey player business school bro in canada, maybe he's a weirdo but i bet his idea of a freaky night is doing it with the lights on chris hemsworth is cheerful and surprisingly funny and likes to hang out on the beach in australia with his family and drink beers, seems like a great guy

The climactic final battle was 110% nerd porn and was the only part I liked. What I hated: the entire plot hanging on the dumbest, worst, most offensively incomprehensible and ham-fisted version of time travel I have ever experienced in any media, ever. At no point did any of it hold up on even the most basic inspection and they made a loving 3 hour movie climax to like 10 years of other movies focus on it for like 99% of the runtime. I hate it so much!!!!!
