I watched 24 Hour Party People last night, it's a film by Michael Winterbottom about Factory Records in Manchester from the 70s to early 90s. It was really really good, I'm a big fan of Winterbottom's stuff, particularly his collabs with Coogan and Brydon. Well worth watching if you have even a passing interest in the music of that era, or if you liked The Trip.

It has a fun 4th wall breaking feel to it and it doesn't try to be too documentary. I know Steve Coogan is well known in the UK, but I haven't seen any of his other work. He was really good in this, at least.

But after Rich’s experience with PreRec I don’t see it happening. They seem to be pretty set in their ways at this point and enjoy the process of filming and editing, as well as keeping their fans at a distance.

When I saw that I was wondering why Coogan just doing Alan Partridge again until I learned that he partially based Partridge on Tony Wilson.

I'm Alan Partridge is one of the best sitcoms ever IMO. All the Alan Partridge stuff ranges from good to amazing. Mid-Morning Matters and This Time... are more recent and really good. The audiobooks are also really funny. For more serious stuff, he also co-wrote and stars in Philomena with Stephen Frears, that's excellent.

Better that they got burned out on streaming years ago instead or jumping onto it now.

Rich and Jack can easily rule the twitch chat with an iron fist if they want to. They can auto ban anyone who ask about Jessi and other stupid star war topics. Some streamer do that. The reason they didn't do it was they didn't treat twitch as a different interactive experience. Also RLM's main revenue is doing too well, so Rich was afraid to try different things. Jack wanted to but it was not up to him.

Rich and Jack had no chemistry. It's telling that their best streams are the ones where Jay and Mike were there. Even their edited game reviews were boring. Also they loving sucked at videogames. Rich popping off about how he has 1000 hours in Xcom then getting absolutely decimated in the beginning fight of Xcom 2 was one of my favorite moments.

That sounds like the one game stream I'd watch. Link? But really, otherwise, I don't see many people clamoring for old guys from Wisconsin to play Senpai Maker Doku Doku 9 on Twitch. Nobody would watch this long term. They can barely feign interest in Marvel movies, and they have to cut hours of content down to 40 minutes for those discussions. Rich isn't meant for long live video, especially about video games.
