All the pear talk ITT reminds me of an episode from my youth. An old man in my hometown had a pear tree in his yard. The rowdies with whom I associated took great joy in stealing his pears, even though they were coarse in the mouth and sour on the tongue. For you see, we stole the pears not to satisfy any need or hunger, but to throw them at local hogs. Our theft was borne of sin for sin's sake, a pure sin. Eating pear: 1/5 Pure sin of stealing pear: 5/5 |

OP you may enjoy eating bananas my way: with both hands gripping the banana like a handlebar, quickly rip it in half. Clench your fists one at a time so that the food part oozes out of the husk for the eating. Bon appétit! |

my bunch of 'nans this week all went from completely green to overripe overnight and it's a bummer, but maybe i'll make some bread with it i guess. also i am no expert on fruit but isn't a fuzzless peach just like a nectarine? doesn't nectarine sound like the name of a long ago prophesied fruit god king?

kuskus posted:beer pal i was curious if you do estimates? mixed messages from this banana with the green stem but a fair amount of brown spots. From the appearance of the indentation at the point of peel rupture I would guess it's fairly ripe and will have a moderately soft texture and a moderately sweet flavour. i don't know about regional variants but by the standards of what im used to its a very small banana. im not going to be baited by the improper opening technique https://i.imgur.com/xQxnooW.png |
