Obviously it's better to read up yourself rather than trust random people on a dead comedy forum, but I understand in this case because once you start to actually look into this issue you get a shitload of screeching opinion pieces and very little actual evidence of substance. I think, personally, that institutional antisemitism in Labour under Corbyn has been grossly overstated, actual documented cases are very difficult to find, and the issue was mainly used and amplified by those who thought Corbyn was a Dangerous Marxist and wanted him gone at any cost, and antisemitism was the easiest way to make it happen.

Well its either that Israel were worried about Corbyn's rise to power as a known supporter of Palestinian causes and so successfully implemented a strategy to create a media narrative that he was a racist anti semite, a notion some were comfortable to accept as it allowed them to discount supporting his socialist ideals. Or the life long anti racism campaigner Jeremy Corbyn has one particular racism that he just loves too much to abandon. Ron Perlman's character in aliens is called ron.

There was a grain of truth to them but they were relentlessly and cynically exaggerated with a truly incredible level of brazen shamelessness that I've never seen before in my life.

I find it hard to follow politics and I'm bad at complicated issues. old labour bureaucracy deliberately loving up complaints to make corbyn look bad which changed in 2018 when corbyn people took over. press blew it up into a massive thing because we can't have a left wing government. labour mps also. keir starmer then paid off the people responsible for loving up the complaints this is a decent summary https://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/killing-jeremy-corbyn

Highfive, fellow starter lover friend. I can eat lamb chops and seekh kebab and entirely skip the main course. I miss the days we fell on Tayyabs like a biblical locust and ordering all the different things after theather or a concert. Seems like June is the target to get everyone vaccinated and for once it sounds plausible with possible delays so fingers crossed. Galewolf fucked around with this message at 20:04 on Jan 17, 2021 |

There was some anti-semitism from labour party members. Corbyn was not anti-semetic but at the same time he did not clean up anti-semetism in his partty.

Fatkraken posted:can someone summarize the Correct Opinions on the whole labour antisemitism saga? I find it hard to follow politics and I'm bad at complicated issues. From the Exec Summary: Investigation into antisemitism in the Labour Party posted:Our investigation has identified serious failings in leadership and an inadequate process for handling antisemitism complaints across the Labour Party, and we have identified multiple failures in the systems it uses to resolve them. We have concluded that there were unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination for which the Labour Party is responsible. Corbyn then said “the scale of the problem was dramatically overstated”. Depending on your leanings this is either a) a defendable criticism of a report that had all sorts of political fingerprints behind it or b) comically proves the entire main point of the report that Labour leadership is/was in denial over the issue.
