But I did roll my eyes at your low effort making GBS threads on tlou2 and then saying you want to cleanse your palette with a real ’adult’s’ drama, a call of duty game. I mean obviously you were trolling, even though you didn’t like the game, but I wouldn’t argue that the game is about what it’s about because you have young women who are only like 19? And grew up in a zombie hellscape with either no parents or lovely father figures. So yeah, the point is that they’re irrational and young, idk why that’s an issue.

i really don't see why people think ff7r2 is gonna take forever to come out. they've already done all the most laborious parts in building ep1 with regard to planning, building the game's systems and models in the engine and probably all the story pacing in outlines. like really the only thing they have to do for the sequels is production and ps5 upgrades to the engine, which i hope is just 60 fps.

im 20 hours into my first playthrough of that game, but i'm betting ep2 is sooner rather than later, and that they probably finish the project in three parts total.

where they're gonna bleed the ff7 ip is in side projects.

Is there a particular reason you want those headphones? Virtually every headset that works with the PS4 works with the 5. This includes the ones that may use an optical cable in their setup, but it requires a little bit of extra setup.

Nope, 3D audio works with any headphones. The only thing the Pulse 3D does that’s special is it has a vibration motor in it. If you like the headphones you have now, just keep using them.

Unless I’m completely misunderstanding how the PS5s 3D audio is set up, it shouldn’t matter at all how the sound gets to your ears.

I mean, it’s always possible that I’m wrong. They don’t document that audio stuff anywhere.

Yup! The 3D audio effect is basically just really good audio processing, it’s not based on any specific function or hardware in the headphones. This also means that turning your head has zero effect on it as well, it really is just a way of getting a better sense of depth and position out of the sound.

yeah, realtalk, this is why i despise the BR genre of games. battle royale emerged as one of the most scathing contemporary film critiques of the all-against-all austerity capitalism in japanese culture; a teardown of the sort of systemic spectacle cannibalism of contemporary youth through commodification and hyper-stratification of economic status...for which one of the ultimate outcomes is an absurdly high teen suicide rate. the very idea that people willingly immerse themselves in a virtual, gamified, simulacrum of that ideological blueprint strikes me as both revolting and insane. it's sort of a gross sequel to people internally processing the trauma, gravity, and perversity of american warcrimes during the GWOT by willingly subjecting themselves to decades worth of corridor milsims and torture porn flicks. it's all just fun and games, until it's not.

i'll find my catharsis elsewhere.

Yeah that's right unfortunately. I usually use Bluetooth headphones with my tv but I have to use the pulse 3d headphones (or any other 'directly connected' headphones) to get the 3d audio option to become available.

Correct. I was under this mistaken impression as well until I bought the Pulse 3D.

There are two Pulse headsets:

- The Pulse Elite from 2013 which was Sony's highest tier headset and included a weird and lovely "rumble on head" feature which I never used.

- The Pulse 3D from 2020 which shares the name and many design ideas but thankfully does not rumble.

I think it looks dope, though it might end up being sort of flashy yet barebones...in which case the $70 price tag will scare people away. Even so, what a cool evolution for Housemarque as a studio.
