(Unlisted video since I usually like to get permission first) https://youtu.be/55-4uBViMY4 I'll have the full set up when I remember to get around to it. It's a lovely angle due to seating and being far too stoned to see where I placed the phone but sounds ok.

I'd never heard of Jack Harlan before but I'm really digging the sound, thanks for sharing! Anyone else know what's up with the drums on the new Bongzilla track? They're so muddy and dull I thought something was wrong with my headphones. Weird. The guitar tone is killer as always, Muleboy is on bass now but those classic Bongzilla matamp tones are there in full force and tasty as ever.

If you like bluegrassy stuff, check out .357 String Band and his solo stuff. I’ve never been to one of his shows or goddamn gallows, but I’ve seen similar bands, like split lip rayfield and mountain sprout. Weirdly, despite growing up going to southern metal and sludge shows like suplecs, Dixie witch, syrup, eyehategod, etc, I’ve never felt more like I was going to end up in a fight or randomly get my rear end kicked than at those dirty bluegrass adjacent shows. ive never felt unsafe at a metal show tbh. I used to work concert security and the metal shows were always the easiest nights bc metalheads police themselves and take care of each other. The big pop country acts were the worst crowds, too much alcohol and lots of fighting and grandstanding. I live in Massachusetts and it was always funny watching people in big trucks get in fights bc they wanna play southern cowboy but theyre from Boston

I like Witchcult Today as an album with Dunwich being a rather "tight" EW track and Satanic Rites of Drugula just being awesome. Other bands to check out from there are Sleep and Om. The good news is you've got great taste, so you'll find more stuff you like. Kvlt! posted:ive never felt unsafe at a metal show tbh. Mosh pits get rowdy but metalheads really do take care of their own and will stop and pick you up if you fall down. Most unsafe I've felt was at a Jedi Mind Tricks show at a tiny club in Virginia, out of nowhere his DJ jumped off the stage, punched some dude in the face a bunch, and then got back on stage like nothing happened. It was weird... Moogs fucked around with this message at 16:04 on Feb 9, 2021 |
