They do and they're incredible dicks about it! I personally had to deal with it because I used to make graphics for TV news.

One year my station was carrying the Superbowl and we still weren't allowed to say Superbowl except in very specific circumstances outlined in a rulebook. Like we couldn't do a story about throwing a Superbowl party, it had to be a big game party.

At one point a producer asked me to make a 3d animation for the Superbowl segments and specifically asked for me to use the logo and everything. I spent multiple days making it despite being 100% sure the lawyers would prevent it from ever going to air (and they did) just because I thought it would be sweet for my demo reel.

Someone with deep pockets needs to just loving do it and let it go all the way through the courts until we can stomp on the face of the NFL and the balls of Roger Goodell forever until they both die.

It’s amazing that Alex Kurtzman just keeps getting more work. I miss the old days when Hollywood careers would definitively die after a few failures.

The sene with Max Greenfield and the other guy the morning after she’s been killed is quite funny. It plays out as kind of an Apatow spoof.

Yeah I definitely felt like that scene was the most obviously comedic, but jesus that was the point in the movie where I felt the very least like laughing.

They should’ve had a woman involved with the review but luchajones harassed Jessi offscreen and that other lady got murdered by Jay.

The guys said the very end was satisfying for them, but for me it felt like the framing suggested a triumphant moment for Cassie, when in context (aside from some logical leaps) it feels like a pretty meager return on her investment.

It turns out the lambs in the story are actually her siblings and they’ve just become lambs in the retelling as a coping mechanism, but also the actual siblings were actually ghosts.

Lol not only do they glom onto a forgotten 80’s crime drama, of all the actors/actresses they pick Queen Latifah to be the action hero. Truly these are days of endless trash. These legacy networks and third tier streaming services are hilariously desperate for content.

I agree with Mike on Psycho Goreman. I think the problem is it acts like a subversive parody of genre fiction but the third act is just the same old kids' show stories it was supposed to subvert played straight, albeit with more gore. I think it would've been more satisfying if the brother had refused to give her the stone after she sang that stupid song; hell, Simpsons subverted that trope successfully nearly a quarter of a century ago, or if Psycho Goreman technically fulfilled his promise not to kill them by doing to them what he did to that punk at the start of the movie or maybe just say he lied and killed them anyway.

Fun fact! The Departed is set entirely in Boston (duh) but the Irish bar that Leonardo's character cracks heads open in around the beginning is actually in Bay Ridge down in south Brooklyn; I used to drink there after work when I was in that part of the city. Fun place!

They filmed some of it in The Bronx too. The police academy Leo and Anthony Anderson are at in the beginning is SUNY Maritime (the TN bridge is there in the background) and

this deli was dressed up and used as the exterior of a bar

I think they've been trying to get a Clarice Starling show going for at least a decade. The last one I remember was supposed to be on Lifetime.

It was actually a show first, but it was a forgotten relic of the late 80s. A guy would find a new person every week who was wronged by some injustice and then help them out and get the bad guy. It was a shameless A-Team ripoff except with one guy and not a team.
