I have no memory of the refrigerator code bit in Space Cop, but in a vacuum it’s kind of funny.

General Dog posted:The sene with Max Greenfield and the other guy the morning after she’s been killed is quite funny. It plays out as kind of an Apatow spoof. Yeah I definitely felt like that scene was the most obviously comedic, but jesus that was the point in the movie where I felt the very least like laughing. They should’ve had a woman involved with the review but luchajones harassed Jessi offscreen and that other lady got murdered by Jay.

The guys said the very end was satisfying for them, but for me it felt like the framing suggested a triumphant moment for Cassie, when in context (aside from some logical leaps) it feels like a pretty meager return on her investment.

Taintrunner posted:hey remember those terrible Denzel vigilante movies Lol not only do they glom onto a forgotten 80’s crime drama, of all the actors/actresses they pick Queen Latifah to be the action hero. I agree with Mike on Psycho Goreman. I think the problem is it acts like a subversive parody of genre fiction but the third act is just the same old kids' show stories it was supposed to subvert played straight, albeit with more gore. I think it would've been more satisfying if the brother had refused to give her the stone after she sang that stupid song; hell, Simpsons subverted that trope successfully nearly a quarter of a century ago, or if Psycho Goreman technically fulfilled his promise not to kill them by doing to them what he did to that punk at the start of the movie or maybe just say he lied and killed them anyway.

Taintrunner posted:Fun fact! The Departed is set entirely in Boston (duh) but the Irish bar that Leonardo's character cracks heads open in around the beginning is actually in Bay Ridge down in south Brooklyn; I used to drink there after work when I was in that part of the city. Fun place! They filmed some of it in The Bronx too. The police academy Leo and Anthony Anderson are at in the beginning is SUNY Maritime (the TN bridge is there in the background) and this deli was dressed up and used as the exterior of a bar
