Cause it's a serious pain and I think it's been that way for awhile.

Cause it's a serious pain and I think it's been that way for awhile. well, it's also fair to remember that's like a 10 year old feature and dates from a time when the main way of getting a music on a phone was "plug it in and use itunes to transfer songs over your usb cable." at the time (and i believe still now? maybe this has changed since apple has started acknowledging "Files" as a concept again) there was no way for spotify to do that, since the iphone filesystem and transfer stuff was locked down for everything except camera photos. so honestly, at the time, it felt like a clever hack that, in the best case, could actually feel nicer than having to plug your phone in, since it was all wireless. of course, spotify then never touched this feature again, so they never moved to the cloud storage model that itunes now has (spooked by amazon music storage's failure among others, i assume, and maybe labels fought back against them doing anything like itunes match), and they never moved it from being playlist-based to being library-based when they added the library

I like clipping and I’m all for musicians getting whatever money they can get to continue funding their artistic output, but there is a particularly weird dissonance between clipping’s music and Diggs’ more outward facing image.
