In my experience, if you know the track and have a good car (doesn't need to be top 5 but it helps), it comes down to making fewer mistakes than everybody else. If you're especially skilled you can make 1-2 more mistakes and catch up, but boy howdy can that be challenging.

Last one I did I was winning and some dipshit called me out as a modder and started hanging around chokepoints to ambush me so his rank 5000 buddy could win instead Anyway, most public lobby racers seem pretty awful. I assume anyone that actually takes it seriously finds a crew and sticks to private lobbies like broughy's?

My favorite bug EVER was when the RE-7B had the collidable spoiler that would push against your suspension, and propel it to 240mph. Did you scope out the drainage tunnel entrance at the back of the compound yet? It made such a huge difference for me, and getting that cutting torch makes bolt cutters irrelevant.

Guards can’t hear explosions. If you have difficulty dropping two guards chatting with each other at the same time, use C4. Note that they can, however, see the brick as it comes sailing in, so be quick.

One trick for 2 guards at a time is to line up the shot directly through both of them and then you should just be able to shoot-shoot and drop both, instead of having to move aim from one to another

Don't know if the guide mentions this, but another good trick (if you took Conspirator loadout) is to slap 4 sticky bombs to Rubio's chopper on your way out of the compound, and then detonate them as soon as he starts coming for you. He'll immediately fly off and it makes escaping a lot easier. If you don't need/want to get secondary loot after you leave the compound, turn left out the main entrance and walk over to the cliffs and see if there are any patrol boats passing by. If you hijack one, you can motor your way out from there to complete the heist, because the game lets you leave the island from anywhere, not just your exit point. You can even just dive under water and swim the whole way in a pinch.

They've said stuff about adding more single player type jobs into the multiplayer world so that parts not surprising. I think we can expect more similar stunts in the future. I'm usually negative towards heists due to how scripted they are and it feels like the same boss battle over and over(casino) or watching the same movie over and over(OG heists), but I have been enjoying my time with Rubio. Using different entry points and tricks, basing these choices on what I find on the island, etc this one still feels fresh enough to draw me in and spend a night doing it start to finish. Compare to the casino heyday where I could do 1 or 2 in a night and just be exhausted of it and not want to touch it for weeks. I look forward to more open world things like this! I know some of these are suggestions and should-have's, but still some of the weird design choices I see, not to even get into straight up bugs and common glitches... The difference in payout for 2/3/4 players only adds ~500k for each person. For example 1 player with necklace is $1m and a full bag of gold adds 500k. Another person? Another 500k bag of gold. In my head, unless you have a couple people each doing preps and then do a few heists where yo ucan appreciate that extra 500k each time... it really dis-incentivizes doing with more than 1 person. Hmmmm 1.5m for 1 person or 2m for 2 people(even at 85/15 split thats just over 1.6m so not much of a bump)? Right I still have not figured out how to get grappling hooks to show as a valid compound entry. Ive gotten all 4 and have scoped the weak spots, but still it never shows up. I can get the front door to show up if I do the explosive charges prep. Otherwise it's drainage tunnel every time as the available entry I know it makes it easy on the player to slip out and swim away, but that should not be a valid exit strategy. For an island. In the ocean. I can see if you explicitly were able to choose Sub as exit vehicle, then sure you could swim to a yellow circle somewhere and be 'safe' Stealing guard uniforms makes the real guards turn a blind eye at the gate, but only if you use this one specific truck. Should be an on-foot entry maybe with a shift change element in the narrative. They already use 'change of guards' to replenish bodies while you are inside the vault room Returning to the island during a scope? Nope no party for you. Returning in free mode to party? Nope no island exploration for you Other than possibly 1 or 2 paintings in the office, how is every door in the compound a 2-factor lock? Rubio is going to leave his office door unlocked, but even bedrooms gets a 2 card door? This could MAYBE be chalked up to his ego "Who would ever dare rob me? El Rubio!?" but after a couple daily robberies he ought to rethink his strategy

I didn't use the water insertion spot so I had to make my way down from the northern half of the island. I still had to do the explosives prep before I could start the heist, but once I was on the island, I was able to go in and out via the wall without ever bothering with the main gate. If you're saying that you went to the wall and the "press e to use grappling hook" prompt never showed up, then yeah, that sucks.

No no no thats what I do... I just meant that on the finale setup screen it never shows that as a valid entry point to the compound. I figured if anything, having all 4 grapple hooks would enable that as a choice, but still only ever shows the drain tunnel. Its a dumb nitpick thing. in practice the hooks work just fine and I prefer them over the supply truck due its slow speed across the island Come to think of it, having all 4 guard outfits scoped and also the truck scoped *should* show the front door as an entry point to the compound as well but it doesnt

we can only hope that they can somehow squeeze out a few basic QoL improvements soon because they're selling boxed copies of gta online standalone on the new consoles. i can't imagine what the dev budget decision making process is at rockstar vis a vis fixing bugs and stuff, vs. adding new radio stations and nightclubs speaking of QoL, does anyone know if they've nerfed the difficulting/mind-numbing tedium of biker and CEO business missions recently? (i.e. in the past 6 months or so) In the last two weeks i've done a bit of biker missions and crates because of the weekly bonuses and found they went more smoothly, the biker missions needed less vehicles, that kind of stuff, but might have just been imagining things given that the payout is doubled. re: swimming away from the island i assume the implication is at a certain (safe) distance pavel just picks you up in the sub. since when you take the sub approach a prerequisite is getting the sonar jammer, presumably you have to be at a safe distance for him to pick you up. who knows why that stops working on exfil, probably the same reason he has to “move the sub” i don’t think it’s meant to be assumed the player swims across the gulf of not mexico and through the not panama canal then up the San Andreas coast back to Vespucci beach. with a bag of gold and coke and poo poo on his back though given what our weird mute Forrest Gump characters have done and the amount of global catastrophes we’ve personally averted in GTAO it’s not inconceivable.
