I dig it, could see it becoming one of those songs that won't leave my head (like that last Victon comeback). SHINee's really the only gen 2 k-pop I've gotten into, thanks to Taemin's solo stuff. Though I should give TVXQ a listen, I was obsessed with that last U-Know album.

New SHINee is so good The single reminds me of EXO’s most recent singles (fast paced and focused on showing of vocal range), but the styling is very NCT. It’s an interesting direction for a post-enlistment group, and I’m happy that SM isn’t putting them into the adult contemporary box quite yet. Whole album is bangers, not a single song I don’t like. This time the songs are obviously arranged and produced with their voices in mind whereas the last album sounded very thin at times, like the production was still adapted for one more voice to fill out the harmonies. This album feels more cohesive and they sound more balanced when singing, especially with Minho filling out the lower register. I’m glad someone bullied him into singing more. I've been keeping up on that wave of accusations as well, mainly because it seems my fandom is the kiss of death. (G)I-DLE? Check. Everglow? Check. Stray Kids? Check. Monsta X? Check. HyunA? Check. From what I can gather there's been a shitstorm of allegations against celebrities over the last few days due to the volleyball scandal last week-ish bringing school bullying back into the national spotlight, and Naver being about to drop their "most searched" tab which a lot of people fear will make it much easier for this kind of thing to get swept under the rug. How this has largely surfaced wrt k-pop idols is as a lot of mostly anonymous unverified accusations, ranging from the already-publicly-withdrawn (Loona's Chuu) to highly credible (Soojin). Most of them fall somewhere in the middle, and we don't really have any idea how it's going to shake out at this point. Even the middle school bullying accusations wouldn’t matter here because we recognize that all kids can be assholes at that age. But Korea also has a major bullying issue (not that we don’t, but it’s different) and combined with unrealistic moral standards for idols it becomes a big deal. I personally haven’t seen anything that would make me stop being a fan of these groups. I don’t think any of them will really stick or hurt these peoples careers though, since none of them seem even as bad as Irene’s scandal last year and even that went away after a while. Irene's scandal hasn't gone away at all, though, it's just not talked about as much since she's pretty much halted all activities and isn't in the public eye-- she's barely been promoting her movie that just came out, from what I can tell. Girl has lost basically all of her CF deals, which were her bread and butter and kind of the main thing she was known for in Korea, and her brand reputation is still tanked, not to mention RV's comeback being pushed back. From what I understand, her movie is doing rather poorly as well (though this probably would have happened either way, she's not a very good actress and people are far less forgiving about iffy idol performances in film than in dramas). That’s good insight from the non music side of things so thanks. It just felt like everyone stopped talking about it in light of Wendy’s recovery and their performance at the SM online concert was the most talked about from what I saw. In light of all this drama Twice received a shoutout from the Golden Disc Awards staff for being the nicest people to work with and recognizing them for how well they treat both their staff and the show staff so that was nice to see.
