On Liddell the shooting this year helps but he's still a heavy 6'7" guy without great athleticism who gets most of his offense around the basket and isn't an elite defender. He's too slow to guard wings at the next level and gets bullied by bigger college centers pretty regularly.

One of the real big "What Ifs" of college basketball is what would have happened if NC State hadn't hosed up the negotiations with Beilein so badly that everything fell apart right as he was ready to sign the contract, touching off a series of deeply embarrassing fuckups that left them with only Sidney Lowe to take the job. Of course, that would've required NC State not to have hired the ridiculous idiot they had in place then as AD, so...
