Verily, the whip is ghost riding.

Is there a way to go ASK promotions if you can work for them in Empire instead of just waiting around in Wrestling School for an offer?

Am i missing something?

If it's like the other MDickie games, no. You just have to languish in wrestling school until someone decides to give you an offer.

Could always cheat by putting your opponent in a promotion before your match (once the match has been booked, of course). When you beat them, the company is so impressed you beat “their” wrestler, they’ll want to sign you. As thanks for their help, you can put the other person back in Wrestling School, voiding their randomly assigned contract.

That’s how I’ve been unlocking people I hadn’t encountered yet. Down to one active wrestler, and two of the Legends left.

Is that what dragging people around on the roster screen does? I don't understand that page except occasionally I can talk to people

Not that I can tell; no idea what the purpose of picking people up is. You back out of Career mode, go to the Editor, find the person (or people) in question, go to their relationships tab, and you can move them from there.

Each company has a maximum size though, so be prepared to spread people around if you’re going the full empty roster option. I have yet to test if that means by filling up the Legends page, people are immortal and you can’t retire.

I played the Empire Switch demo and I found the controls kinda difficult and sloppy. Was I doing it wrong or is that kind of the point? It felt like I was wrestling in Goat Simulator.

This could be the most one-sided fight since 1973 when Ali faced an eighty-foot tall mechanical Joe Frazier. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think the entire Earth was destroyed.

That’s pretty much the gist of it, yeah. It’s janky as hell, but that’s the appeal. Part of the fun is working out the best way to game the wonky rear end systems.

As someone said above MDickie games are bonkers but there’s an internal logic that keeps it from just being bad.

Is the full game worth it if I was struggling with the demo? I was wondering if having the full features and characters might catch my interest better.

I think I’m in the need of a new wrestling game after getting burned out playing against tier 100 CAWs on 2k19. Been leaning towards the Retromania game when it’s out for PlayStation.

If you weren’t really enjoying the gameplay itself in the demo I don’t think there’s too much more in the full version at this point that would change your mind. 90%+ of the career gameplay loop is the wrestling portion. There’s no booking mode in the game yet.

There is definitely a learning curve to the gameplay though, so if you think you were having fun with it but it was just hard, I recommend turning down the difficulty and sticking with it.

My go-to tag team strat is to throw my opponent out if the ring where my partner is eagerly waiting with a steel bar. I don't think I've won a tag match by pin for roughly an in game year.

Annoyingly, Retromania (the Wrestlefest sequel) is getting delayed on all the consoles. You can play it on Steam now, but I want the Switch version, drat it!

Oh, are you loving kidding me. Really lovely of them to wait until the release date to announce that it's been pushed back yet again instead of getting ahead of it. I was looking forward to getting this stupid game on the Switch today and playing over the weekend. Ugh.

They announced it earlier this week and said the delay will be less than 2 weeks

Weird, I feel like I just looked and they were still pushing the release date for today.

Either way, just a bummer. Hopefully "the beginning of March" doesn't become "the end of March", "the beginning of April", and on and on. Been looking forward to this one for a while.

They were pretty up-front that the console versions were going to be delayed (probably some sort of certification issue). It does suck that they didn't mention it until a week or two before release but it seems like they didn't know that was going to be the case until then.

I got it on Steam but i feel bad for the console players who have to wait.

Because it was probably cheaper to slap the logo on casino game and hope to rake in that sweet sweet microtransaction cash than actually spend money making something decent.

Couldn't even bothered to clone a match 3 game, for shame.
