Well the new episode of Wonderful is interesting. Seems like both Griffin and Rachel felt the need to vent and soapbox, which I can understand. Glad they are okay. Sounds like a harrowing week or so.

Indeed.

And Texas sucks. It just sucks differently than some other states suck.

I don’t really see how that serves as a counterpoint to the idea that Rachel and Griffin would be better off in a different state.

I mean maybe, but infrastructure is crumbling everywhere, the skies turn red on the west coast every summer now, louisiana is falling into the ocean, the east coast has hurricanes etc etc.

At some point these types of complaints only serve to downplay the actual pain and loss that people just suffered.

If you had any upbringing in the church (or just like hearing the boys be a little more real and little less goof goof dildo) you should definitely check this podcast out. I've been listening to it since Travis was a guest a few years ago and it's hilarious all the time, but also a really nice genuine look into a lot of different people's lives and their histories and such. The boys have talked a little before about growing up and how they felt about church after their mom passed, but it was nice to hear how Justin feels now. Plus a bonus story about Mark Lowry stealing Justin's hat.

I live in Chicago and we're slowly replacing our crumbling infrastructure with 13 story buildings that have retail (target and a bar where a robot charges you for beer by the ounce) on the first floor and luxury apartments, of course with the variance-adjusted mandate for affordable housing, meaning no more than 150% market rate, so there are 8 of 100 1BRs that only cost 1900/month

Travis guesting on their McGee and Me episode was such a coincidental confluence of my childhood interests and adult interests, I found it incredibly nostalgic and pretty funny.

I'll be happy to give this one a try even if I don't know this guy's specifically.

Yeah but you're not falling into Lake Michigan while also on fire and deliberately disconnected from utilities to stick it to the man. That housing thing isn't even US-specific.

Enjoyed listening to Justin talk about his faith and stuff but then it got REAL deep into some very specific Christian music stuff that I'm just not familiar with (which, to be fair, is the point of the show I guess). Seems like an amazing podcast to a very specific audience.

Yeah, it's a niche audience, but I find that their tone is very different from a lot of other people who are either still completely bought in or super anti church. It's a lot better fit for how I feel right now, at least. Not every episode is such a deep cut, either.

Think of the words “Bud Light” as a brand rather than a description of its weight. As in, this is the Bud Light of 8% hard seltzer(s).
