That's weird, I've only ever redeemed mine for cash. I went in last week and got a case of water + a few hundred bucks. The cashier told me I should have printed off the full email instead of just the certificate part but he still handed me a wad of cash so it all worked out.

The Citi Visa card reward is straight cash. Fun getting paid a STACK of 20s at the membership counter in front of the line of people checking out.

The mailed executive reward said it was not redeemable for cash, but didnt say anything about the balance after a purchase being paid out. The cashier clearly had done it many times before.

Anyways I love Costco. We are very blessed to have lives where we can go spend and do our thing and post about it.

Hello thread. Been awhile.

Today was a good day. Went in and bought a few things I needed and used my Executive rebate. It says you can't redeem it for cash but they gave me the remaining $150 balance in cash!

Then I went to the counter to get even MORE cash from my Citi VISA Rewards card annual cash-back. Walked out with what I needed and around $600 bux. :homebrew:

There's been some fraud with the executive rebates lately so they're not letting people just cash them out right now without buying anything. The workaround for this is to get one super cheap item like bananas and pay with the certificate and then get the difference back in cash.

The Citi Visa rebates can still be straight up redeemed for cash though.

Costco is great.
There was a special on tires, $110 off your order of BF Goodrich, wow! Amazing! Because I essentially put the white-letter KO2s on everything we sell like this:

(pictured: Set of Costco-bought tires)

I of course put in an order online for four of them since I expected a truck we have coming to be here when the were ready to be installed. Ship was delayed and unfortunately I won't have the truck till the middle of March, when I expected to have it in the middle of February. Get a message the tires are ready to be picked up but I don't have the truck they go on. During our weekly trip I went into the tire place and the guy behind the counter (who I recognize) says "Hey (my real name), what's up?". A bit startled, I told him what was up with not having the vehicle for 3~ weeks even though they have the tires already. He says it isn't a problem at all and because it's me he knows I'll be back to actually pick the tires up. Just let them know when I'm ready.

In closing, I might buy too many tires at Costco.

Is there an AI thread about what you do? I’m assuming it involves rehabbing/importing decades-old/foreign market 4x4s and selling them to the types of dudes who want to give the impression that they overland in something like a manual transmission milspec G Wagen.

Yep! My wife and I have been at it for a while now, though some other AIers have also imported things as well.
It's less rehabbing though and more just plucking nice examples out of Japan, cleaning them up and doing needed maintenance. I spend a ton of time trawling the auctions and their used car lots but I truly enjoy it. Then when they get here, I deeply enjoy making them nice as daily drivers, then enjoy selling them to people that are stoked to have them. We too daily drive these things, we don't have USDM cars of our own.
It's less selling to tactilol dudes but it is absolutely selling image, think more Radwood-bright colors though. Nobody we sell these to will use them as they were designed, it's all fluff. Including me, I love the things but I usually just hop in a fanatically over-built, indestructible diesel Toyota, then go to Costco :v:

Thank you I'll bring it back in excellent condition full of fuel.

Also if you're sitting on any Wagon Rs, I will take one for free thank you.

Yeah I get both and always exchange them for cash. One comes in Feb and the other in Sept/Oct I think. Never had an issue with getting cash for either. Maybe it's not supposed to be that way but yeah, the cashiers always have seemed pretty cool with it. You're also right about it being kind of fun to have them pay you out as you leave the store. Feels like cashing out at the casino even though I know it's just money I already spent.

Yeah to be honest I don't know why I still do it that way. Maybe because one of the vouchers comes in the mail so I'm used to taking a piece of paper in there.

Can someone remind me about the return policy on computers? My wife is thinking about buying a laptop at the 'stco and it's a little more expensive than buying on Amazon but the return policy makes us willing to spend a little more. From what I can tell online it looks like we get effectively 4 years of warranty, 2 from the manufacturer + 2 from Costco. Have I got that right? I know there are different rules for certain devices, not sure if computers fall into those categories though.

Only 5 states + PR so far. Those of us working here are really, really looking forward to it coming to our state.

In other things... months ago there were some people raving on Instagram about cocoa bombs they found at Costco, and we actually had people calling us or stopping us while shopping, asking where they could find them. One person even claimed she'd seen them at our store just a while ago. The problem: they were only in a handful of stores around SW United States, Texas or such.

Lo and behold, somewhere along the line we were eventually planning on getting cocoa bombs to more stores, with the first delivery to our depot scheduled around the end of February. But then that date got pushed back. And it got pushed back again. So no cocoa bombs for now. There's a part of me that wonders if it'll pan out.

They're selling tickets by entry time right now. Morning was sold out, so we got there in the afternoon. We got a pretty good show from the cheetas, leopard, and mountain lion, and just about every other animal as well. It was only 65 degrees on Sunday, so I imagine that helped.

It's so good drat annoying. I once saw a really nice "bar pizza" posted and some big dick award winning NYC pizza restaurant chef came into the thread being all like "there's way too much cheese, too much sauce, the crust is too thin and it's overcooked for NY Style Pizza."
