I just heard the new architects record and gently caress me, it’s absolutely atrocious. I’ve never been this disappointed since pianos become the teeth decided to become sort of Dadcore rock band. Gutted. They were one of my favourite live bands ever.

I think the new Architects is pretty good. Far from great, but better than I'd expected. A lot of fans aren't gonna like it, but the old stuff's still there. Sure, it's largely less heavy, but you could take any random song off this tape, put it on of their last three albums, and it would fit. The sound is VERY Architects. And I think it'll play great live, especially mixed into their set (which is always gonna have heavier old favorites in it).

Listen I just feel bad for Guitarists in these bands. They get to play like 50% of the song because all the verses are just drums and the vocalist and maybe some programmed synths or someshit.

bummer that we disagree but brand of sacrifice does absolutely nothing for me distant is more brutal beneath the massacre is more technically impressive shadow of intent does "epic" better and infant annihilator dropped the perfect deathcore album in 2019 that just eats everyone's lunch, and breakfast and dinner brand of sacrifice has the vocals mixed in too high for me i think and everything is too clean sounding. i want my deathcore dirtier sounding or if its gonna be tight then it needs more noodling like beneath the massacre. and lastly, preferably not collabing with frankie palmieri lol

as far as billboard goes, drift is erra's top charting album. their latest neon didn't even chart as high as augment did from way back in 2013. idk what kind of sound erra is even looking to achieve anymore but all their music is terribly boring to me and none of these singles gives me any hope of them getting better. i wouldn't be surprised if this new album does even worse. e: for clarity, gently caress charting albums and most popular music overall, but it would be disingenuous to assume bands like erra are not trying to sell more records and reach more fans just like any other band out there but *especially* one in the mostly-mainstream-metalcore subgenre. they want that underoath -> bring me the horizon -> linkin park status/money
