Several years ago, Matt Hardy basically reinvented himself and refreshed his career with the gimmick of "What if Tommy Wiseau was the Undertaker?" During TNA's weakest days, Matt was able to draw some buzz by taking his "Broken" character and filming segments at his white trash mansion that were surreal and so stupid they were brilliant. He ended up bringing the persona to WWE and had one of his wacky pre-taped matches as the main event of Raw. One of the commentators -- speaking for Vince -- straight-up told the fans it was going to be garbage right before it happened. Then he went to AEW and they went all-in on the weirdness of it all.
