shameless plug for my 100+ hour, 1600+ song spotify playlist from hardcore and metalcore bands from 00—05 aka the best era. first phase of great bands who either suck now (btbam) or who are still great (every time i die), and a bunch of bands that spun up and fizzled out all within that timeframe.

I spoke to the hamartia guys online at some point a million years ago. He was saying how disappointed he was in the album because they wanted to do so much more. I was like, dude, this album rocks. I guess he was a perfectionist.

I still listen to Dead to Fall regularly. Everything I Touch and V&V are two of my favorite albums never. The Phoenix Throne was really good too

I haven't listened to those two albums in a long time, but I'm pretty sure I could still sing them front to back.

I never got into thier third and fourth ones though.

holler.
I'll always mark out for Howard Jones. I was discovering all types of metal when End of Heartache came out. My first introduction to KSE. A big group of us went to see them on tour supporting the album, and I was only vaguely familiar with it. It was a pretty defining moment for me as far as concert experiences go. I hadn't really been to a club show; just large venue concerts until that point. Pretty visceral experience that I'll always remember. I was hooked after that.

Alley Katz in Richmond, VA if anyone is familiar. drat do I miss that place.

i've never heard of this band, but it's exactly the type of poo poo i would have gone nuts for a decade ago. i'm surprised more bands aren't going for the full on gothenburg metalcore revival sound. it's cool that bands like unearth and as i lay dying are still doing it years later, but there's room for new bands to come in and reshape that sound, i think.

Can I chime in and say that I kinda find DL's successful foray into "songwriter/producer for hire" strange as all hell? Like I'm glad he found a way to create stuff without having to experience burn-out from touring (which is the reason the ETID camp has burned through anyone not with either the last name Buckley or Williams) but I kinda find his songwriting style pretty... I dunno.

His style is kinda like  personified.

two albums dropped that aren't really metalcore or deathcore but the actual hardcore thread is just full of urban outfitters music and the metal thread hates anything remotely punk so here you go, dudes:

Also, I think this was the best EP of 2020. The riffs are a ton of fun, everything's got that bounce, and the vocals hit a ton of styles. All in all, killer stuff.

They've recently uploaded a vocal video and an instrumental guitar playthrough video for one of the tracks.
