I have to wonder what the exit point for NDRA even is because I saw EYES went from sub 2 to over 15 on an fda approval

I'm not quite sure, I've gotten real lucky lately with managing to time it near the top so Hopefully I don't gently caress it up. I'm hoping at least $6 but 15 would be drat nice

I’ve been trying to figure out that exact thing with NDRA. I keep going back and forth between starting to sell at $5-6, and holding everything until $10. I still haven’t figured out what I think it’ll do.

Yes, I do have two options, one CCL 22.5c for 6.45 expiring jan 2023, and one nclh 27.5c for 8.05 expiring jan 2023. It could potentially be fuckery with them, but it appears as if it's reporting the daily change for them correctly.

One way, dead end... Street signs are such fitting metaphors for the human condition.

Intrigued enough about NDRA and TLSA to want to get in on them, but neither seem to be available through my broker (Wealth Simple). What other options are there? Preferably one that'd let me move funds in right away instead of making me wait a few days. I'm in Canada.

I missed the boat up to 15, but i saw that 3 days this week EYES spiked 30% at open and faded thru the day. On the third day, I buy near the low end of the fade. On day 4 it...drops 40%. Today, I was despairing selling at a loss all morning until like 2 pm, where it suddenly shoots up 40%. It was a loving miracle, thanks biotech.

My plan is hold through FDA decision and then see how they're looking. They have a roadmap of catalysts that should all start bringing in $$$. My guess is if the revenue gets flowing they get bought.

I had 100 shares of NDRA that I bought at a relatively high $2.45, that I sold today for $2.55. I set a new low-ball order to buy 100 at $2, assuming a Monday drop, but I'll buy back if it gets below $2.30.

I’m in almost the exact same boat. Bought 100 shares at $2.41. I haven’t sold them yet but I have a stop loss set for $2.55 currently. I plan to buy back in when it drops.

it's been ping ponging between 2 and 2.50ish so many times that i felt like selling some of it now to buy back when it goes back down. so now of course they'll announce FDA approva like monday morning

As I was typing out my post, I realized they've got another conference starting Monday, which made me realize there's a decent chance I made a huge mistake.

That said, their presentation for it is on their website, and it's basically just someone narrating the investor PowerPoint presentation that's been on their website for a while now.

“We are totally great at picking stocks but all these stupid poor newbies made us lose 100 mil.”

To the investing newbs who follow this thread for some reason: nobody knows what the gently caress they are doing, least of all the professionals. One of my best friends is a financial advisor and he has been saying the market is overpriced since 2013. Look at the charts. Individual stocks rise and fall but overall the market goes up overtime.

Put 95% of your money into a vanguard target date fund, total market or SPY500 fund.

Split the remaining 5% into 10 pieces and go have fun trying to pick stocks. I was -7% overall since 2016. I’m up 160% since covid by buying blue chips, casinos, air lines and cruises during the big dip last March. Still, I’d be up almost as much if with much less risk if I just stuck my play money in SPY back in 2016. I got lucky and won’t reliably replicate my results until the next major crash when I will buy the dip again.

Some of the strategies in this thread are sad. Someone posted a few days ago about roblox or something and had a limit order at like 4% profit. Wtf? 100% risk for 4% max gain?

What about Roblox was 100% risk? I find risk assessment really interesting but have never been clear at how exactly people arrive at these numbers.

It's not 100% risk, the likelihood of roblox ipo shooting to 0 within a minute of your trade execution is nil. More likely is you take a 10-20% cut or less with the correct stop loss put in. It opened at around 65 so say you planned to sell at 5 dollars over ipo. 7% gain vs 10-20% loss in that scenario. I was planning on a buy at 50 and sell at 55 which never happened, but I estimated my worst loss would be selling at 40-45, so a 10% gain vs 10-20% loss in that scenario for what would have likely been a trade that took <20 minutes due to the popularity of the IPO.

This is almost literally my approach and I highly recommend it. Put an amount every month into a target retirement fund and don't worry about it. The remaining portion is just playing fantasy sports with real world events.

Speaking of which I'm also still holding AMC cuz I'm convinced it's gonna spike again.

someone tell me why this company's stock price won't tank:

https://finviz.com/quote.ashx?t=APPH&ty=c&ta=1&p=d

"pre-revenue" SPAC in 2020, trading at somewhere around (edit: 200?) times projected 2021 sales, that will have negative EBITDA in 2021. short interest isn't very high so no squeeze on the horizon.

nothing they're doing seems like it can't be reproduced by some other big agri company. they have a fancy greenhouse.

warrants can be exercised on may 21 for $11.50/share of commons (stock trades @ $23 right now)
https://investors.appharvest.com/investor-resources/investor-faqs

I mean, they sell tomatoes. a 2.5 billion dollar company that is losing money selling tomatoes.

Yeah the sell pressure is gonna be hard to deal with if it actually gets clearance. A good problem to have if the dream comes true, but there is a solid chance there are several other things they’ll do that will keep pumping the price. If institutional money gets into our cool goon meme stock It will be weird.
