I don't know who the gently caress these people are. I know that Darkseid is Steppenwolf's boss, but a lot of bosses are idiots. Darkseid steps on his head while his eyes are still on and glowing, casually, and smashes it, while Superman needed full punches and heat vision to do anything to it and he can still somewhat take it. The visual language is right there in that sequence.

The common thread of all the twitter jokesters is they'll correctly identify a joke, and then act like it's an accident. You need the characters to be in on the joke to laugh properly I suppose. People freaking out about the parademon sketch being a goofy cartoon of Batman for example....
