I'm doing a rewatch of Fear the Walking Dead (first three seasons) and it holds up pretty well. I remember getting frustrated at people like Madison and Travis but their character arcs make sense over the course of the show. Besides which, it just seems like the writers, cast and production crew put more effort into the thing compared to TWD.

people were knocking fear from the start. but i have no big complaints about the first season and the first half of the second season. then it gets a lot worse. then it gets better! then it gets worse.

I only watched the first 4 or 5 episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, but I thought it was pretty good and the writers didn't seem to be doing a lot of the nonsensical stretches that the main show was notorious for. I just didn't keep up with it because I was busy with other things, and then I heard from this thread about how it went ridiculous and just never returned to it.

As the above guy said, first 2.5 seasons are good, then it goes downhill a bit. Season 3 is solid. Season 4 was okay but it went off the rails with 5 and whatever they're up to now. It's definitely worth a watch.

What actually happened to Madison from Fear? I really didn't mind S1-3 of that show and I would've been happy if TWD was at that level but no they had to crater Fear as well

The editing in that clip makes it seem like the grenade explosion occurs over like 10 seconds, like it's just churning more and more earth out of the ground as it cuts from Maggie to Daryl and back.

You can upload a regular old MP4 to imgur and it will convert to gifv automatically, at least with browser You have to use the lovely new beta stuff to get sound for the gifv though

hell loving yeah I watched the "stuck in a railcar" ep of WD the other day and got nothing out of it and kept thinking about how Black Summer could somehow turn that plot into something awesome and suspenseful

s1 was a bit wooly and experimental. but yeah some of the eps were as good as the genre has ever been on television. revived Black Summer, as well as upcoming Last of Us adaptation, as well as new Army of the Dead franchise, will make television an interesting media space again for zombie stuff for the next couple of years. glad to be moving out of the doldrums of late Walking Dead.
