Yeah, that's all I've been able to find wrt this blend door. The person who owns the car can't really afford the $600+ for the entire blower housing assembly, and they are really new to working on cars. I can't find a used one on ebay and considering that the blend door is right where mice like to nest I don't want to tell them to buy a junkyard one sight unseen.

I'm trying to get them to see if they can get the door itself out, those three tabs are holding _something_ just not sure what.

I wouldn't try to take the door out, there's 2 hinged attachment points and the connector to the actuator with possibly no access or way to replace/repair. I'd try to rivet / graft an extension to what's left of the door with it in place. Unless you have a full replacement assembly ready to swap if it doesn't work.

Alternately, just tape over the inlet and don't use the recirculate setting. :D

Well if you would give me non identifying first few digits of vin I could. Or I found multiple 10-15 Prius at junkyards. Where I live I would never expect a rodent problem. If that is something in your area maybe it is not a feasible option. Good luck on your search.

I've told them to look up how to take the blower housing out so we can figure out if it's possible to fix the door. So far the cheapest replacement I can find is around $515 usd.

You said you saw blend doors for $50, now you want a vin number I don't have before you'll link me to the blend doors you claim to have already found. Meanwhile, in two posts meatpimp confirmed my findings, instead of acting like I don't know how to find parts for a Toyota while claiming to have found what I'm looking for without providing a link.

Let's run through this real quick first.

I made a post you skimmed and didn't read about the part, where I said I couldn't find the part number.

I know this because you replied with telling me to find the part number, while ignoring that I'd stated I'd been able to find housings and actuators only.

I replied with diagrams and links that re-stated what I'd said in my original post about only being able to find actuators and housings.

Then you told me you found blend doors for $50 on ebay but didn't post a link while acting like it was easy.

I asked for the link.

You asked for the vin.

I pointed out that you said you'd already found it and asked again for the link, and you said you were done helping me.

I called you an rear end in a top hat.

You told me to go gently caress myself.

I'll be happy to go gently caress myself, really it's the only way I have a good time.

You're still a condescending rear end in a top hat who acts like owning large numbers of Toyotas makes you a Toyota guru.

Have a good night, everdave, maybe try to dry out a bit.

Thanks guys! I will get some wheel covers then, I can't ignore two suggestions in a row.

I pre-painted all the trim, and I painted the field before applying it so I wouldn't have to cut everything in and I am so happy with the result. I do have some touch up and I ran out of field paint for the soffits, so I didn't save myself all the pain. Also I was fortunate that I love the color of my house so I just used the same colors.

Now all that's left is ignore the last things to do on the shed for a few years and finally knock it out in 2025 or in the month before I move.

In California you can't use your passport as one of the two documents to convince the DMV the person they've licensed & been sending yearly jury summons to for the last 20 years that you're still the same non-ISIS non-terrorist, but you can use the piece of $1 cardboard that you printed yourself that says "Social Security" on it that you made in a free trial version of Photoshop with a 1970's typed number font and signed by a county recorder in some county no one would even be able to figure out if it exists or not. Just a matter how much fraud you want to commit, as a non-ISIS non-terrorist, I guess.

Source 2: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/driver-licenses-identification-cards/real-id/how-do-i-get-a-real-id/real-id-checklist/

You actually need 4 documents, one proof of ID* (which the passport does), one proof of SSN (SS card, W2, etc), and two proofs of address.
This isn't CA DMV's fault, this is federal requirements, see 6 CFR 37.11
*You also have to show you are here legally. A passport counts as two of these, but you puts produce a second document if you use an ID that doesn't prove this.

A 18 year old kids are gonna house sit for me in a bit, as a transition to living on their own, they currently live with relatives of mine that are not their parents.

Anyways, one of them needs an ID, so they can get a job and stuff you need as an adult, turns out the Federal Real ID standards make this almost loving impossible if you're under 21 and are emancipated from your parents. It's a big crock of horseshit, and as usual discriminates against the segment of society most at need of the service, and least able to cope with the added requirements.

And as you point out, does absolutely nothing to enhance the real security of any living being.

That's a nice looking shed. Would using one of those wall mount tire holders work in or even outside of the shed for storing tires? I'm still stacking tires on moving dollies but have a couple wall hangers I've been meaning to mount.

Late update on Fiat alternator from a couple weeks ago. It arrived and is mounted but I broke one of the pulley mounting studs so that needs to be drilled and a bolt stuck in it's place because I don't want to wait another month for that to arrive. Then need to put the rear end back on the car before I can test it because that includes the main engine mounting point. Also checking/cleaning all grounds while I'm messing with it and cleaning the engine bay really well.

Interesting, they turned me away last fall with a handful of those documents (utility bills/bank statements + other crap) & a passport when I was just doing a regular renew and trying to add Real ID, and told me that no SS card on hand meant I didn't fill all categories.

So true! My grandfather had a farm where I spent most of my summers as a kid. His work truck was a 56 F100 that had a chevy 350 swapped in. The transmission that came with it was not designed to be a "3 in the tree" so he just cut a whole in the floor board for the gear shift. Also the shifter wasn't gated so you just need to kinda know where the gears were.

Also the floor was covered in tools and nails and bullshit, it smelled terrible, and we would need to get the either out from under the windshield to start it almost everytime. No air cleaner on the carb ever.

But yeah that's what a 'manly' truck is in my mind. The luxury trucks these bros are buying are really just grocery getters with a bad case of the "not gays".

Prices may wildly fluctuate, but finding a good example of something like that will only get harder with time. If it’s something you can afford now, and will still use and enjoy it even if it’s value drops in the future, you probably won’t regret buying it.

Just make sure you can store it safely out of the elements for the entirety of the time you own it. Cool city living and cool car ownership is hard to reconcile.
