I don't know what it is. Blastbeats, screaming, ocean / creaking ship sounds, some electronic stuff sometimes and randomly loud and dischordant accordion flourishes. It throws a lot at you and my head hurts now.

You're not kidding with that description.

I dig it.

Yeah I've listened to that Ulthima album a ton recently.

Speaking of, Napalm just debuted a music video for Bodom After Midnight about an hour ago. The track is pretty good, parts of it sound like the first 3 albums, the chorus sounds pretty HCDR'y, and the overall feel of the song feels like it's off of Halo of Blood.

May or may not see them at bloodstock this year, not picking up tickets till the situation is clearer tbh

It's not bad, more modern Bodom really. The new drumming is more aggressive which is nice. But, man...you can see how ill Alexi was :(.

I don’t really get why they needed to break up because Martin Kearns died when Andy Whale is right there in Memoriam, he recorded their best records!

Andy Whale is no longer a member of Memoriam unfortunately. Spikey T. Smith is the drummer on the new album.

Koldovstvo (from the not top list) is good BM.

Strangely scratches some Emo/Turnover itch.

EDIT: This was a really good atmospheric album that didn't get too wooshy or boring. Some interesting group vocals and decent riffs. Although, like Departure Chandelier's Antichrist, I missed the first intro tone. For DC, it was that phat, phat synth. Here, it's some great lo-fi guitar tone that never shows up again.

Not a new song or anything, but it popped up on my playlist and its pretty awesome. Especially that first moment the drums kick in, and in the outro where they get even heavier.

There’s a lot of bands now but maybe the style needs a better name. D-beat sounds way cooler than discharge worship.

Are there any bands that sound like Amorphis did on The Karelian Isthmus or Privilege of Evil? I enjoyed the Emerson Lake & Palmer metal they started playing after, I really prefer the ancient moldy sound on their first album. There should really be a bunch of bands that play Karelian Isthmus worship.
