Nope. They only know her from the Hero's party because it is was like 80 years ago. Notice that mainly the old guy recognized her.
Flamme lived 1000 or so years ago.

People getting forgotten is one of the main themes of this series.

It appears that not everyone even realizes that she was the mage who was in the hero's party. Otherwise they would either be making GBS threads themselves, running away or attempting to gang up on her. The old guy absolutely twigged that she's that Frieren, but even he has no idea about her true age and power..

they all believe that serie is more god than wizard, unique and unmatched. and well, that's probably true. but there's a lot of room in the range between their concept of the limit of a mage and serie and no one expects frieran to be there.

Imagine a rod breaking on a robot face - forever
Seems like elves are rare enough that if an elf mage shows up it's probably safe to assume she's Frieren and kind of a big deal. However, to be fair, she has lived in deliberate obscurity for decades. There's really no way any human would know about her apprenticeship to Flamme, though.

Frieren trying to remove the barrier just made me realize why it's been repeatedly foreshadowed that it's raining outside of the barrier.

How would removing the barrier change things again? They still need to finish the test after all.

It's raining outside.

Just let yourself become a worthless person!
Something that struck me about this story arc is that we've had a lot of characters show up and talk about how tough and merciless they are and how they'd be willing to kill to win this contest, but nobody has actually murdered anybody else onscreen. It seems like unlike the people who put on this contest, the actual contestants largely have enough of a moral compass not to end the lives of others for their own gain.

No one said that there aren't any casualties, they were saying onscreen deaths.

Yeah they were traps. (Chapter 40)

If they were missing chunks of flesh and draped over a tree branch, no one's going to try and get them down, they'd obviously be dead from a glance.

Frieren's mimics are the mimic trope played for laughs. They only trap you instead of actively chewing on you.
