Took a team projected for mid-pack of the Big Ten, with two 5-star signees dumping him at the last minute, and turned them into Big Ten Champions. Got a NCAA #1 seed and an Elite Eight appearance after losing his second-highest scorer (a probable pro). Had nearly no effects from a 3-week state-imposed lockdown. I'm not aware of anyone doing a better coaching job this year.

i mean Mark Few. People knew Gonzaga was good but even that is largely a testament to him and I don't think anyone expected them to completely lap the field and wind up in the discussion for best team of all time which they very much have a chance to do, and it's kind of dumb that you can only be considered the best coach if people were wrong about you preseason anyway. But whatever Howard is really good Garza won player of the year which is good and cool
