It’s very easy to read about histories of bands or genres or musical movements but they often feel separate and this just takes a whole bunch of disparate music that came out at the same time and gives you an idea of the individual trends while also still slapping hard as gently caress

Bootie has gone almost 100% streaming and a lot of that doesn’t stick around as individual tracks, I’d guess. Plus a lot of DJs have had to move on for monetary or other reasons, especially with no live shows (seems like regular artists slowed releases big time in the past year too?). We are due another BBM here soon though.

I’d like to get the ZZ Ward “Blue Eyes Blind” mix and there was an LL Cool J “Mama Said Knock You Out” mix. ZZ Ward still has the mix on their YouTube, but it seems like something must’ve happened and he took it down (years ago). He definitely doesn’t take any crap off anyone, which is fun(ny) to see.
