Does the OWB mod include the lore-accurate mechanic where randomly some dickbag in blue jammies shows up and destroys all your plans?

... wouldn't that depend on your faction, and what the Courier/Vault Dweller/Chosen One's playthrough style?
|
# ? Mar 23, 2021 19:26 |
Well, Arroyo is led by the Chosen One and is independent from the NCR, but doesn't have a focus tree, and the Courier seems to either just be dead or have good work ethic because House just gets the Platinum Chip with no real trouble on that front if you take the right focuses (the only real disturbances to House's reign being either Benny or The King).

Hey, is there anywhere I can view the overall stats for my airforce, in terms of kills/deaths? Whether that's in total or just war-specific doesn't matter so much. I mean, I know I can click on an air region to view the current day's stats, but I'm after more complete stats, if possible. Since my plucky li'l Mexican Revolutionary People's Air Force seems to be doing quite well against the US overall. I'm maintaining air superiority despite being outnumbered, taking out way more enemy fighters compared to what I'm losing (often it's one loss to 5-7 kills. Sometimes one loss to twelve kills, etc) but yeah, I just want to see a more complete list of stats if possible, so I can get a better idea of what areas I need to improve on, etc.

Veronica's path is legitimately better than the other two. Also preparation is king against the Mojave expedition. Start researching robots and planes early on, so you can have robot chaff to support your power armored elites. Your focus tree will lead you to some nice robot buffs eventually.

The Legion will always attack, if you didn't try to claim the southern Mojave past the long 15 you should be fine with the NCR. Blimps can be a huge manpower sink, so be careful.

fUUUUCK dude, how in the gently caress am I supposed to beat the legion? Should I just batten down on my fortifications? how do I get the NCR into this mess
|
# ? Mar 25, 2021 08:07 |
Honestly, the Legion are a paper tiger for a Mojave robot nation. They have maybe like two chokepoints they have to get through, worst case maybe three? Hoover Dam, Nipton and maybe the Long 15 if things went really bad, and so that's like five provinces. Just build full level outposts and bunkers there and just let them crash against you. Eventually they'll kill themselves. poo poo, I fought NCR and Legion at the same time as House before and it was easy, though I must admit I've never played the Mojave BoS after their rework, so things might be drastically different there (though I don't see where exactly). If they get the White Legs on their side things open up a bit, so that might be problematic, but I don't think it's too much of an issue since it takes a while for them to get to that point of the focus tree.

The NCR isn't coming to save you, you drove them out of the Mojave remember. You want to deal with the Fiends shortly after operation Sunburst, so they can't raid you causing the AI to pull troops of your front line. -Build forts/bikers on the Hoover dam and naval forts on Cottonwood Cove. -Keep reserve forces near the Cove, the Legion likes to do naval landings on either side of that tile. -Have a few decent fighters and maintain air superiority in both northern and southern Mojave. You have maluses against the Legion that can be corrected by taking a focus and by a repeatable project, keep repeating that as long as the fighting continues That should stabilize your front line at the river and let the Legion ground down their supplies, though they never really have manpower issues. There will be an option to get a truce if the fighting continue long enough, but it is temporary. Servetus fucked around with this message at 12:05 on Mar 25, 2021 |

... I truced out. I checked the casualties before sending the offer, the Legion killed 129 of my dudes, and I had killed over 4,000 of theirs. My spies helpfully let me know they have between 20 and 30k in their pool, and I have 540. I feel dirty. Time for a war with Mr. House. Edit: I had only racked up 60ish dead in 2 months of defending, the other 70 died in the two weeks whrere I poked a hole in their lines at the southern crossing, then retreated back to my side of the river when Caesar threw down 16 Legionary units against the pocket. Will I ever get nukes, or do I just churn out the bots and try again in a year? BrotherJayne fucked around with this message at 14:31 on Mar 25, 2021 |

Nukes are a thing, but only added manually through focuses, and only ever one or two. They are super rare and only a few nations even have access to them (Republic of Rio Grande is one I know of).

Assuming they exist in the FO universe. Sure would be a lot easier than trying to get a strategic bomber working, I suppose! Also, question: What's the best way for me, benevolent socialist Mexico, to get through the hellhole that's south-east USA? I breezed through Texas (killing over 700k US troops and losing maybe 120k, which was mostly due to a costly+successful mountain assault in the west) but now that I'm going through eastern Louisiana through the rivers/rubbish terrain, they've got me bogged down - and I don't think I can afford to drag the war out indefinitely. Should I keep trying to push through, or maybe go north a bit and then come down on them from that direction, or? Really not sure what the best approach here is... Tlaloc's children (including Santa Anna) and Rio Grande can get a a bona fide ICBM base reactivated IIRC. Tlaloc also starts out with a few strategic nukes left (and can use them by decision if someone breaks the peace between the mexican nations while he's still around) and can hand the keys for them over to Santa Anna.

Why can't I move troops here? I'm at war with the Soviet Union, the controller. The Netherlands, the owner, is one province in Suriname. I'm attacking from my puppet Germany, who's also at war with the SU. I can attack and drain their org, but automated nor manual movement result in ... that. They can attack back with no issue. The Soviet Union and the Allies are currently in a war "together" against Japan, if that changes things. I'm not at war with the Allies. Seems like a bug, any workaround?

Unfortunately, me being fascist, Denmark, Netherlands and also Poland (under Soviet Union occupation) hate my guts so can't get Mil access. Poland one is particularly silly, cause it doesn't even exist. Whew. This is going to take ages. From what I can recollect, it started with WW2, regular stuff. I joined in as a third faction, Byzantium and the balkans, by declaring against Italy. Italy called in Germany. Eventually, Japan declared on Siam, which pulled in the allies in that war. Soviets attacked Japan, so that war is Allies + Soviets (separate) vs Japan and the Japan faction. Japan brought in Germany in that war, but Germany didn't bring Japan in WW2. As Germany capitulated, Soviets, Allies and myself participated in the Peace conference, which ended up with Soviets getting Denmark and Netherlands. So now the only war left is Japan vs Allies and Soviet Union. I declare on the Soviet Union, and this is the current situation. canepazzo fucked around with this message at 19:24 on Mar 29, 2021 |

The New Order dropped "After Midnight" as a mini-update before the big content drop. Lot of general bugfixes and also the Post-Tabby collapse is added. The New Warlord era is a mix of pretenders to the regency, as well as Soviet z-listers hoping the 4th time's the charm, much bleaker remixes of a lot of the starting factions, and full on fascist satanists doing sacrifices deep in the tunnels of Omsk. Savinkov as Slavic Hitler is a well-known part of the mod, but giving the leadership of Russia to someone who is, historically speaking, an idiot random nobody dipshit. TwoStepBoog posted:drat, that's a big change. Can't wait to see actual progress reports. KR has a very open development setup. People are largely free to work on whatever they feel like which is why countries like Nepal and Bhutan have in depth focus trees despite Russia having a major overhaul "in the works" for approximately 374 years. I can't fault them for taking that stance since nobody's getting paid so it's hard to say they have to work on things that don't interest them, but it's 100% why the mod's updates don't follow any sort of traditional game dev. Magni posted:Well before they had it run by Kerensky, who was not exactly a logical choice either. IIRC, Kerensky specifically stays in power because despite his 0% approval rating, no faction can get enough support around a single candidate to push him out. "He's not my first pick either, but he's better then Savinkov!" This still doesn't make any sense since he doesn't have any sort of coalition propping him up, but it's why he gets shot as soon as the game starts. I dunno, it "feels" better than a major world power being run by a guy so little known that there's only like 1 or 2 photographs of him.
