It gets better once it stops trying to follow a linear plot and starts doing one-offs/small multi-comic stories. Which should be coming up soon IIRC. I think "the punchline is a facial expression" is one of the most common yet most difficult gags to successfully pull off. Doing it with mostly-static faces is an extra level of challenge. In any case, that is some great comedic timing.
