Sadly Vanessa got fridged on Deadpool 2. It was a big disappointment that the writers went that way.

Edit: I know they did the whole time travel thing at the end, but I still don't know if she'll be back for future movies.

Then, she had 4 minutes in Apocalypse (which basically killed the longevity of the franchise) where she was dressed like this:

Also, her character just walks off to parts unknown and is never addressed again.

To be fair, betting on Apocalypse over Deadpool probably seemed like the right move at that point.

Never trust Bryan Singer.

It is pretty amazing that they even made another attempt after Apocalypse and they so clearly half-assed everything about Dark Phoenix.

It's not like Vanessa has had a lot to do in either Deadpool movie, beyond serve as a source of motivation. If/when Marvel get around to making a Deadpool 3 she'll hopefully have more to do there, given she's in a relationship with Deadpool after he went back in time to save her, but I wouldn't hold my breath it'll be a major part at the same time given she's a normal human in a superhero film. She might get a role of similar size to or replace the taxi driver or the old woman as a source of humor, and that's probably it. Also, it's not like Psylocke has a lot of costume choices; though in saying that I looked it up to see what choices there are for comics based ones, and she had a bodysuit in X-Force that looks pretty cool. I've no idea when that was though, or how popular it is.

All true. It's just funny that her stated reasoning for turning it down was that she didn't want to be "eye candy" and wanted to be in a franchise with some longevity and then she plays Psylocke in the movie that put the franchise in a death kneel and her character just wanders away and is never addressed.

And Deadpool will have more movies than Post-Apocalypse X-men.

I'm not sure it's a matter of "worth." I think it's very good; if it were a movie, it feels like it would be on pace to be on the higher end of the big-rear end ranked list. That being said, there just isn't that much to talk about. It's a pretty straight forward action story, and the mysteries the show does bring up aren't the sort that're conducive to the endless speculation of Wandavision. Frankly, because of that, I think this is going to end up being a better show, since it's less likely to gently caress up the landing the way Wandavision did.

Psylocke's outfits are mostly stuck around the Boob Ninja look because that's what horny dudes remember wanking off to in the 90s:

but she's had some solid new ones in the 2010s:

And Fortnite clearly took point from those:

So that's probably what an MCU version would go with, which makes sense. This is ignoring everything involving the Betsy/Kwannon stuff which I'd also bet cash on any MCU version avoiding because that stuff is a headache at best.

The FOX X-Men movies always had this aura of "why the gently caress did you do it that way?" Like not even in an angry way it just feels like no one really thought out the decisions beyond what would get the product out the door fastest.

That'd mean no Logan and no Deadpool films, so I doubt you'll get much agreement with that. No core X-Men films? Sure, though I never saw anything after First Class (and I only saw that because a friend bought a ticket for me after I said I wasn't going to pay to see an X-Men film), but no films at all? Nope.

That's what I meant, lol my bad. You should see Days of Future Past though, it is a very good film. Plus if you watch ignore the post credits scene it works as a good ending to the fox X-Men series.

I'm not that shocked. The first Avengers was/is one of the highest grossing movies ever, and Age of Ultron looks hideously expensive, especially because they all took the critiques that Whedon can't block for poo poo (he can't) to heart and invested in visual specialists.

Yeah, Whedon essentially had a blank check to do whatever he wanted with Age of Ultron after The Avengers made more money than God.

Then he wrote a script for Ultron that was like four and a half hours long, shot the entire loving thing, and then got pissed off at Disney when they told him he had to cut it down to a manageable runtime, ultimately quitting working with Marvel Studios because he was angry at them for making him edit his masterpiece down to two and a half hours and the movie being generally disliked by audiences and critics.

There's some chunks of it on the Blu-Ray. Would have been interesting if they actually put all of the deleted scenes on there.

There was a longer subplot where Thor and Stellen Skarsgard go on a vision quest and learn about Ragnarok and the Infinity stones. There is a cameo with Loki and Idris Elba.

There''s a bunch of smaller scenes with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

There's a scene where Banner and Tony are having a conversation about where everything went wrong with Ultron.

There's a scene where they look over everything they did in Ultron's code and expand on the idea that Ultron is perfect and wasn't made insane with a glitch or error and that the world made him insane.

There were also a lot more scenes and romance subplot between Hulk and Black widow and another subplot with War Machine.

The other ~1 hour and 45 minutes are lost somewhere in a Disney archive.

Semi-related old man complaint: I wish more Blu-rays, or even streaming services, included commentary tracks and all of the deleted scenes. Seems kind of silly to not put all of the deleted scenes on there.

Some commentary tracks are priceless and better than the original movie, such as:

They had to coat almost all of Munn's body in lube to get the costume to fit, and the very first time she tried it on, her crotch popped out through the latex, revealing the way she groomed her genitals to the costume crew. I can't even begin to imagine how humiliating that was.

A fun way to frame AoU is that Ultron is a completely alien intelligence with an unfathomable agenda and the Spader personality is a “Chinese Room” it has constructed to interact with biologicals. That’s why it’s full of wacky one liners, pop culture references, and overly emotional. It’s basically a chatbot that has been corrupted by interacting with bizarre super people,

Ehh, it might be a chatbot, but it's still a Stark™ chatbot: Klaue didn't recognize Ultron from Grumpy Cat, he recognized it from a patented wacky Tony one-liner.

There is apparently more footage of Zemo dancing though, along with reactions from Bucky and Sam that didn't make it into the episode. That I would love to see as a deleted scene somewhere on Disney+.
