quote:

A secret enemy launches a surprise attack on your home, viciously murdering your wizard master and leaving your city in ruins. No longer an apprentice, you must take charge of a magical kingdom and rule as you see fit.

Fight
Use the environment to crush, trip, impale, or explode enemies.
Raise up fallen enemies and command the undead to fight on your behalf.
Fully destructible cities. Use catapults to fire from afar, or blast through the walls and lead your troops through the breach.

Command
Lead your army in first person, in battles of up to a hundred units.
Tactics matter. Order your men to hold the line with a shield wall while archers rain death from above. Teleport behind enemy lines to wreak havoc.

Build
Design, decorate, and defend your own fully destructible 3D city. Strategically place spawn points to rain fire from high towers while melee units defend the gates.
Integrated sharing. Download, destroy, and rate other players’ cities.

Rule
Make decisions that can change the story and lead to different game endings. Features a story written by Patrick Kevin Day, a former lead writer from Telltale Games.

Part of the problem with finding games on Steam is that I'm pretty sure that 'new' games are being added retroactively, so if you were to look at the games released yesterday, then come back and look at the same day a week from now, there will be even more games then there were previously, if that makes sense. It must be hell if the game you've been working on for years doesn't even get placed into the front of new releases. Anyway, here's some games from like, last week?

Princess Castle Quest: A pretty competent game in the vein of Chip's Challenge, it's not in 'Early Access' but it's not fully complete either, with new levels getting added every day. 10$ seems a little pricey, but if sokoban is your thing (It is mine!) it's probably worth being in your collection
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1103550/Princess_Castle_Quest/

Machinika Museum: If you've played the Room this will probably be familiar to you. Seems like it has more of a focus on a sci fi alien artifact feel over the rooms endless clockwork.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1507190/Machinika_Museum/

Rolled Out: A Super Monkey Ball tribute that's been in development for quite a while already, it's still in early access, and a little rough and short. Worth a wishlist if nothing else.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/873270/Rolled_Out/

pureya: A collection of rapid fire minigames revolving around collecting marbles which you then use for gatcha. Rad.

Free

quote:

OpenTTD is a business simulation game in which players earn money by transporting passengers and cargo via road, rail, water, and air. It is an open-source remake and expansion of the 1995 Chris Sawyer video game Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

quote:

I’ve easily spent thousands of hours playing this game. The game is highly customisable with a massive amount of NewGRFs, mods that add new station tiles, trains, buses, houses, roads, terrain, trees and many more. A popular train NewGRF that I would recommend for beginners is Iron Horse v2, which adds 120 new trains. If you want more industries, I recommend FIRS v4. If you set FIRS to Steeltown, you get 48 different cargo types and 30 different industries.

There are also GameScripts. Gamescripts can enhance gameplay by providing additional goals. A good example is Renewed Village Growth, which requires you to supply towns with certain types of goods to allow them to grow.

Of course there are hundreds of ways to customise your gameplay. Realistic maglev trains? RIMS. Customisable Tesco? Fridaemon’s eyecandy objects. 800+ different trains? 2cc trains in nml. In the main menu, just press “Check online content” and search away.

If you want some more advanced gameplay options, try JGR’s patch pack. JGR’s patch pack allows you to easily timetable your trains, place signals on bridges and in tunnels, customise passenger generation, have even more NewGRFs, and many many more things.

The modding scene, especially when it comes to making NewGRFs, is very active.

In my current game I’m using JGR’s patch pack’s timetabling features, together with the Peaks & Troughs Gamescript, which implements peak hours for passenger trains.

I hesitated to post about TTD this morning since it's not technically a "new" release. I highly recommend it to anybody that's into railroad tycoon style games. Even without mods it's excellent. Hopefully the steam release will expand the playerbase.

Also there is / was a goon multiplayer server for it, I believe.

Enjoying this. It's a free JRPG where min/max nerds can buy characters for your party. It looks like the game has around 100 characters to form up a party of 4 and you get a pile of free ones at the start and unlock dozens more as you go and complete quests. The artwork is oddly engaging to me, I really really like it. It's a direct port from a mobile game, but still looks great, and since it's a JRPG there isn't anything missing here. The music and art are just top-notch, the story is JRPG time jumping so you've got medieval and future mixing and matching.

Dunno, just enjoying for what it is. It's been so long since I've played a JRPG maybe. Either way, free is free and im enjoying this more than I thought.

Edit: It looks like some quests are made from other companies as well. There is a Persona quest with characters I can unlock apparently. Weird.

Builder. Farmer. Hunter. Trader. Ranching certainly isn’t your average job. Think you have the skills to turn your family’s rundown homestead into the most prosperous ranch in the valley? quote:

Do you want to get this game because you love building? What about holding E to place predesigned and predecorated buildings in very specific plots that are completely immovable? Because that's what you get.

Do you want to get this game because you love the idea of hunting your food and growing your own crops? What about collecting some meat from an unmoving bear and then selling it to the shop because there's no food or hunger system? Because that's what you get.

Do you love exploration, the thrill of an open world and countless things to explore? What about a closed world with a small number of shops, tons of empty structures, and dead space with absolutely no possibility of interaction? Because that's. What. You get.

I know that that is is Early Access, but the fact that it costs $20 on sale is ridiculous. What work went into this game? This honestly feels like someone bought an asset pack, threw down a couple of buildings, and called it a day. My friends and I got through everything possible it was to do in about an hour and a half--and about 1/3 of that was character customization and jumping around on the road because the jumping animations are funny.

Narrative based Puzzle platformers like Lost Words don't usually require a high level of reflex or skill to play them. They're usually made so everyone can eventually see the whole experience. There's a big difference between Wandersong and The End is Nigh.

That being said here are some hard precision platformers that have come out in the last week.
