I do wish they leaned into the lady vocals more, but it's good nonetheless.

All The Witches are dropping a recent live set recorded during The Time of No Shows(tm).

https://recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/13512

If you like the band and are a fan of their live stuff (the Live in Brussels album is pretty loving great) then this might be worth pursuing. If it's anything like that King Buffalo pre-order, it could also sell out stupid fast.

Id like a digital release of this :(

speaking of, what are most of you guys listening to stuff on?

I use spotify for the most part but noticed that bluetooth and spotify gets pretty lossy due to re-encoding. I have nice speakers and I like to listen with intent ( :420: ) so I put together a raspberry Pi with a great DAC and now use volumio as the player software. it pulls my bandcamp Flac/Wav library off my file server and is controlled by my phone so its the illusion of wireless setup with none of the lossy encoding.

for when im cleaning/cooking or just sitting around I can use the spotify connect function to control spotify running on the rPi which gets the functionality of bluetooth without the lossy/compressed sound. this is a big improvement over phone>bluetooth receiver on my speakers, and the most significant - the flac/wav stuff is definitely 'better' sounding but its the last 5% that is the hardest/most expensive to get so its just for when Im having a serious listening session that I dip into the lossless stuff.

spotify is adding hi-res by end of year too, as a pricing tier.

Vinyl is definitely cool/fun but I dont really have the space to get a turntable and while theres definitely diminishing returns getting at the high-end of my setup its cheap and effective in comparison to buying gear and records (and the rPi can be used for other poo poo later if i get tired of the setup)

This post brought to you by the finest Miami cocaine money can buy ----->
Spotify on Roku TV connected to a receiver via optical and my beautiful home stereo with Paradigm speakers. Lot's of YouTube too. I wish Roku had a Soundcloud/Mixcloud app.

I used to have a massive digital collection but after many hard drive failures over the years I gave up on that. I also use TuneIn a lot but mainly for house/techno stuff (I cannot recommend this app enough if you have a smart TV, it is great!)

I have a record player and have a bad habit of pre-ordering silly things like the Bongripper re-releases or that new King Buffalo LP.

For what it's worth, the wife and my girls are not huge fans of Snakes for the Divine being blasted at 11 AM on a Saturday morning while doing house work. I have to keep it to more tame material for the bulk of the time. I consume the bulk of the danker stuff while at work (PC speakers + Spotify) or at home (pretend home is in bright bold green letters) in front of the computer with headphones. I went through a metric fuckton of stoner doom while playing Division 2 during the Pandemic. Cathartic.

I have Spotify through the Roku/XBONE that runs through an AV receiver as well. That brings a sub into the mix, but again ... stoner doom and a tween do not mix.

They mentioned on twitter they had to disable them but didn’t elaborate, hopefully just temporary.

maybe record label problems.

although I was under the assumption that they manage their own releases.

e: wiki says they self release and also use great barrier records, which, as far as i am/was aware, is their own label?

Tonight I'm seeing some bands I've never seen before.

Amammoth - https://amammoth.bandcamp.com/
Droid - https://droiddoom.bandcamp.com/
Sandviper - https://sandviper.bandcamp.com/releases
Mourners - https://mournersdoom.bandcamp.com/

I'll try and grab some clips as I'm kinda into doing bootlegs (with permission from the artists to share) as a new hobby.

If this kind of gig diary post is appreciated I'll do them more often.
